Wacky Wednesday 2/11

  • Morning!

Wacky cuz it seems like Tuesday to me since Monday was a quazi-holiday here (school was closed and I took the day off).

Frost on the roofs and lawns this morning but sunny and clear skies so it will be warmish later. Lighter earlier also so SPRING IS COMING!

Curves called to bug me yesterday since I haven't been there in a coon's age (what the heck does that saying mean? Do racoons live a long time?). Guess I better get my ample butt in gear and shift my early mornings around and start getting in there. Maybe if I swear off the computer in the morning I can do it. The internet is like a black hole most of the time and eats up large chunks of time without me even knowing it.

Gotta hit the kitchen dishes, shower then hit the road to work. Have a good one ladies.

  • Geez, Kel. I want to come for a visit. You weather now sounds like our Spring! We do have lovely sunshine today and the days are getting longer but Spring is at least 6 weeks away still.

A COON’S AGE – Meaning ‘a very long time,’ a coon’s age is an Americanism recorded in 1843 and probably related to the old English expression ‘in a crow’s age,’ meaning the same. The American term is an improvement, if only because the raccoon usually lives longer -– up to 13 years in the wild – than the crow.” From the “Encyclopedia of Word and Phrase Origins” by Robert Hendrickson (Facts on File, New York, 1997), Page 168.
There ya go! The wonders of the Internet and Google can get answers to anything.

Had an early start this morning with neighbour in early to shower and then took car to dealer for blower fix - no connection of those two events! Now I need to create a low carb soup of some sort for lunch and get Hershey organized for her afternoon job and the dreaded weigh-in at the vet. She is at least ten pounds or 20% overweight! I'm 30% over my goal so should not be criticizing her but she needs to get the weight off to be bred. We have cut the food but both need to get back to walking.

I hope everyone is having a lovely Hump Day!
  • just waving hello to everyone!!!! wasn't that newfie GORGEOUS at westminster last night????
  • Good Morning Ladies

Kel~Im so envious!!! I cant wait til I can dig out the bbq, and sit on the deck and enjoy the sunshine!!

Im doing pretty good, still op, and getting my exercise in. Changed it up a bit so that Im not doing the same thing week after week. I get bored too easy and give up. Ive changed my food too....still all legal stuff, but just different....I get bored there too and want to give up. I picked up the new Eating For Life (recipe) book by Bill Phillips, and its really good. Id say really good for low carbers too who have upped their carb intake a bit. My size 16's are finally starting to give a bit!! I checked my last bfl records, and where I fell off the wagon, and how long I was off. I didnt realize I was off for 3 months. So....for 3 months of unbridled eating, its taken only 1 month to get most of it back off. Not bad. But Im still not back into my 14's. Hopefully another 3-4 weeks, and I'll have made it. Payback's a ***** when you let yourself get too far behind!

Ive been hoping to get our website up and running very soon, but life keeps getting in the way...and we are trying to get pictures of stock loaded onto the site. But our photography skills are terribly lacking We'll get it though, and I'll let you all know when its up and running!!

    Have a great day everyone!

  • We're having some lovely weather here too. Yesterday I was out in my short sleeves doing some garden clean-up. I plan to get out today as well but this "black hole" of an internet sure does gobble up chunks of time. I noticed the first crocus yesterday and also the first primrose in bloom. Spring is on the way. Heavy frost this morning which I'm just waiting to melt off before I go out and start hacking away at this jungle again.
I got to the pool again this morning when I really just wanted to crawl back into bed and stay there. I was SO disappointed when I got on the scale this morning. I guess upping the calories isn't going to work either because upping the calories UPPED the number on the scale. I just don't know what the answer is for me. It seems as if I've tried everything but the fat just wants to hang around on me. I'm discouraged, disgusted and totally PI**ed OFF!!!
Otherwise, life is great. Have a nice one.
  • Robin!! Where in wny do you live. I think I may have asked before but it was a while ago and my memory is bad. I live in cortland

I am haingin in there but no tdoing as good as i hoped. I have managed to get to the gym 3 times this week. I am working on starting BFL I did great on that before but I need to reaquaint myself with the weights. I am starting that. I have seen my old BFL papers and that is exciting as i have "bookmarked them in my mind so i can go right back to them when I am ready" LOL

I agree with the internet balck hole as I have to go and fix dinner. I will try to check in later with you all but do not hold your breath the puter is a black hole for the hubby and kids every night I can not wait untill i get a new one.
  • Sue~ Im in North Buffalo Good for you on restarting BFL!! I feel so much better on it. Better than any thing else Ive done so far!

Linda~Ive been thinking about your scale and how its refusing to move in the direction you want it. Here are my thoughts, do with them what you will.

..you have been doing low carb for quite a while...so shake things up a bit
..try lower carb (not atkins low) and lower fat. I found I hit a certain spot lc'ing and that was it.
..exercise 5-6x a week....even if its just a walk around the park.

    I hope this helps.
