  • Good Morning!!! Just wanted to change the name to include diet talk, weather talk, work chat, and baby chat!!!I would like this thread to be enjoyable to all!!!!Doing good on the eating front..Watching quantity this week and will work on quality next week and then things should be perfect!!!!
Things are better on the homefront.. #2 has calmed down a bit and #3 is getting stronger and defend herself better..As far as #1, I have written her off as a lost cause..
Hope all is well with everyone!!!
I made a hair cutting appointment at a little shop that does baby's first haircuts..They video and take a picture and frame it with the little piece of hair..I told the lady all she needs is the "comb over" fixed but if any hair is snipped it is the first haircut!!!!
    Have a great day!!

  • Good Morning All!!

RR, thanks for starting the thread! Do we still want to have a separate Kid Chat thread, or not?
I had planned to bring Peter for his first haircut, but decided not to. It's not that long yet, just hanging over his ears a little, and I can just smooth that over. And the little fluff in the back is soo cute, I can't cut it!!

DH & I are going to have a little super bowl party today...just the 3 of us! The house isn't clean enough to invite anyone over, and it's not like the Giants are playing anyway. I think we're gonna go to the store and get some food, maybe make some turkey chili. DH makes pretty good chili. Then we thought maybe we'll just treat ourselves to a nice juicy steak on the grill, baked potato, and salad or something. I dunno, I really don't feel like cooking, I'd be happy with a bowl of cereal right now!

Do you girls with babes in diapers know when they're pooping? Peter's soo funny, I always know when he's pooping, because he'll be playing by himself, or start grunting, and now he's started kneeling or standing while he poops!! :rotfl: I'm hoping that means he'll be easily potty trained! (he just went, that's why I ask!!) I'm thinking of getting the potty seat out in a couple months, just to have it out in the open so he gets used to it. I know they say to wait until they're clearly ready, but I want to start training him by the time he's 2, especially if I plan to have another one before he's 3. I mean, if he's not trained by 3, so be it, I'm not gonna be frustrated with him, but I just want him to be used to the idea that big boys go on the potty! (Not to mention it's a 2 person job to change him these days!!)

I am really going to be on the ball this week. I stepped on the scale and was mortified! I am at my highest weight ever...aside from pregnancy. I have been challenging myself to drink more water too. On the other forum I post on (a baby forum) we had a water challenge last week. I definitely drank a lot more than I have been. And I know exactly what my problem area has been lately...trail mix! I bought a bag at Costco about a month ago and it's in my desk at work. I have been filling up a mug and munching on it all afternoon! Sometimes a couple mugs full (probably about 2 cups worth!) I'm positive that's what's put the weight on, because I know it's not the food I'm eating. I need to get brave and put the bag of trail mix in the kitchen at work for everyone else to finish. It's about 3/4 gone anyway.

Hope everyone's having a great weekend!!
  • Happy Sunday to all......................

I am hoping to get some exercise in this week. Not doing to bad with eating, but have slacked on the water. I plan on getting back to drinking more water this week. It always makes me feel so much better. As far as the sinus cold, that's getting better. I am on day 2 of a Z-pak.

Lauren: We had steak again today, baked potato and salad. It seems like we end up eating that every Sunday. I tried to refill my guaifenesin today, and they have discontinued making it. Is that the same stuff you were taking? I had 1 more refill and was hoping I could get it refilled w/o having to go to the dr. They told me though they have something comparable that you can get over the counter, but behind the presciption dept. Maybe I will try that. For the most part, I am doing better. I am a chili lover, but don't have a really good recipe to make some at home.

RR: Good luck with Kaylee's first haircut. I remember those days!

Karen: Hope you guys are having a good day.

I have got some things I need to get done, so need to run for now.

  • Jackie...the OTC brand of guafinisen is called Mucinex..It is excellent..U do have to ask for it behind the pharmacy counter but it is better than any prescription I have ever taken!!!
    Vicki
  • Thanks for the info RR....... I will get some if I start getting chugged up again.

Forgot to tell you all that we are getting a puppy in about 4 weeks. He's part english bulldog and blue heeler. He's so cute.................... I guess I better get prepared to start losing some sleep.
  • Where is everyone today???????? You all must be busy. Anyways I have been and just had a couple minutes to check in.

I brought home some work and am going to do some later. I have to go with FIL to a tax appt this evening and will work on it when I get back.

Weather has been damp and cold, so did not get my walk in.

Hope everyone is having a good day.
  • hello all!

I am home from Great Lakes and dbs' graduation. My was it cold! But we had a super weekend.

I just kind of skimmed the posts so I'll have to get caught up this week.

  • Hi All, just having a bit of a busy day!
  • Hi guys,

Been busy here today too. We didn't get up until 9:45 and then Alex was velcro baby. I couldn't put him down for anything. Hope he's over that tomorrow!!

I got a new set of cookware this weekend: Caphalon One. It's non-stick but the non-stick stuff is made into the metal. You can use metal utensils in it and everything. Supposed to be able to use less oil too. I used it for the first time tonight and it worked pretty well.

DH is shopping for a huge butt TV. I finally gave in. We went to a friends house for the Superbowl and they had one. It wasn't as awful as I thought it would be.

RR: Wow, first haircut. Hard to believe it's time for thought. Sounds like a really cool place.

Jackie: Hope your weather clears up soon.

Rabbit: That's what DH said about Great Lakes!! Glad graduation went well.

OK, gotta go. Velcro boy calls.
  • Hi All,

I did pretty good resisting the trail mix yesterday. I mean, I had some, but only like 3/4 of a mug, instead of 2!! Baby steps...

Peter slept through the night!! I think I'm gonna start telling daycare that if he hasn't had a nap by 3, don't bother. It seems like if he's up from 3-3:30 on, he sleeps better. I don't know that it will always work, but it seems to lately. Ideally, I'd like him to nap between 12:30-3. Daycare puts them down for naps at 12:30, after lunch, but Peter usually fights it.

I'm excited about the new person they hired here for me to support. She replaces one of the ones that got fired. I was working a bit with her yesterday (her 1st day) and she's a great teacher. She is going to teach me to do a bunch of stuff in Excel that I don't know how to do, that will make all the reports I do easier. I can't wait!! (I love Excel, but only know it to an Intermediate level, not Advanced).
  • hello.

I have a busy day planned today so thought I'd check in here early. I got my journal up to date this week. I weighed in this morning and maintained. I struggle with the traveling and having been gone the last two weekends plus, I know that maintaining is moving in the right direction for me. As Lauren says, baby steps.

Karen - cool about the new cookware. I love the nonstick stuff.

Lauren - glad the new person at work is so helpful.

    have a super day everyone.

  • I am so depressed................ I want to exercise so bad, but just don't have any time. Our house is really moving, and is taking what little spare time I had, to even think about exercising. I know it will pass and things will get better, but unfortuantely, I can't see that far in advance. I hope you guys don't mind if I continue to post even though I am doing awful with exercising right now.

Looks like we will be getting the puppy a week from tomorrow, so that will be one more thing to add to my list. He is so cute though, that I am hoping it will outweigh the fact of losing some sleep!

Lauren: That's great about Peter sleeping thru the night and good idea about the naps at daycare. When DS was little and MIL kept him, he would always fall asleep close to me getting off at 5PM, and then he would not go down for bed until real late, and when you work all day, that just does not work. So I finally convinced her to either do it early or not at all. It does help! PS: I get along good with MIL, so once I told her, she understood and worked with me.

Karen: I have never heard of that cookware, but sounds like it really would cook good. I am going to get some new cookware when we move into our new house.

Rabbit: Good job on maintaining. I don't even want to step on the scales right now.

Well, I have a monster of a headache right now and need to go so I can help DS finish homework.

Hope you all are having a good evening

    RR: Hello.................

    Jackie
  • hi everyone.

You all must be really busy because there are no posts yet today. I had tennis league today and also did weights - racking up those APs! Hoping for a good loss this week.

Jackie - ofcourse you should still post even if not exercising! When I first started exercising, I would do 10 minutes. I think even that helps.

    have a good day everyone!
