Daily Thread -- Monday, January 26

  • Goooooooood morning all!

Not much time to chat... gotta jump in the shower in 5 minutes to get to work by 9. But I wanted to say hi!

I've had a good weekend, which after the Friday I had, I needed! (See my post in Alternachicks Chat under the Bite Me! thread.) I got all my laundry done Sunday, visited with my mom and dad, straightened up my apt., and wrote my long-overdue Christmas thank-you notes. Better late than never I guess! Now I just have to actually put AWAY the laundry Tonight, tonight...

I have kept myself on the program, have not engaged in any self-destructive overeating. I drove past Pizza Hut last night and was kind of grossed out by the thought of all that food. Here's hoping I stay that way!

Ok, off to work... noooo! Hehehe! Well, until I get my million dollar check in the mail, I guess I need some way of paying the rent, right? Is it bad to fantasize about becoming independantly wealthy?

Have a great day, ladies, and I hope the world treats you well!
  • There you are, Sarah!

I'm just getting ready for my one hour walk to the Market with my psychi. It's -32C out. I'm going to see if DH has time to drive me a few blocks closer before he heads off to work. brrrrrrrrrrr.

I'll be back later... love and hugs to all...
  • Just a quick hello...
Running off to work but wanted to say good morning!

    Have a great day
  • Today I go back to nights
    Good Morning Everyone

Ellis- Sweetie I am sorry you had a rough weekend with the food. Never quit posting because I WORRY! Have a safe trip to the psychiatrist. It dumped buckets of snow here last night! Currently we are at 18 F and still dumping snow.

Morning Kat- Your response in Step 1 was wonderful. I meant to reply last night but a friend in crisis called. That thread is very powerful and I see myself in everyone of you, I think its good to sometimes look back and see how you got here to remember how important it is to keep going.

Jenelle, Christy, Sarah- My thoughts and prayers go with you today.

Its a snow day. so I am going to spend some time with my son

    Much love,
    Miss Chris
  • Hey all!

Chris -- It's a snow day here, too. I'm a very happy camper right now. Enjoy the time with your son.

Ellis -- I am constantly amazed that you walk that far in those frigid temperatures! Drink something nice and warm when you get in, 'kay?

Kat -- I, too, enjoyed your share on the step thread. Good work! I hope you have a great day at work. No snow days for you all, huh?

Sarah -- Sounds like your doing great with your program! Keep up the good work and have a great day.

Jennelle -- Thinking of you! (((hugs)))

I've been doing some writing on the history of my obesity. It's very eye-opening and cathartic. I actually feel like writing down so much of it is helping me to let it go, to a certain extent. Yesterday I worked on it on and off and have about 8 pages written. Hmmm...think I have issues?

Well, I'm signing out for now. The man is haggling with a car saleseman 'cuz we might have found me a Liberty.

    Later,
    Christy
  • Evening all!
Chris and Christy - Thanks! I really enjoyed reading the thread, too. It's amazing how we can be so different yet share the same disease/be so much the same. I related to all of the shares, too!

It's a short week for me. Friday is a pupil free day, so I do not work. We are having friends stay with us this weekend from San Francisco. Two of them are twins and I have been friends with them all my life (we are just a month apart). I even celebrated my one month abstinence anniversary at one of their weddings.

    Jennelle: Where are you, hun?

Sarah: Have fun spending that million!

Ellis: I, too, am shocked that you walk in that weather. It was a brisk, 63 degree day here. I wore my scarf all day. I'm such a wimp - you'd never know I had grown up with snow!

Chris: I loved snow days as a kid! I hope you had a relaxing time with your son.

Christy: That's awesome you got that writing done! I find journaling so incredibly helpful. And, you're right, no snow days for me! But I get a sunny day to keep my mood up, so it's a fair trade. At my old district, we actually could have flood days - but I never experienced one. The drainage system in LA sucks. Hence why our floods hit the news every once in a while. A few years ago my parking lot at my apartment (an old one) was completely flooded (luckily our cars were in a raised section and were fine) - the flood actually made national news and my sister-in-law saw our apartment in Maine on the news!

OK, gonna clean some more. I went shopping at Target and got some cleaning supplies. I was running out.

    Have a good night!
  • Chris, are you getting that big storm? Are you alright? I hope you had fun with your little DS. Be careful driving, hon.

Christy, a snow day for you, too! What's going on down there!? Do you girls live in the boonies?
Eight pages, hmmm? Yes, I'd say you've got issues. What a great idea writing it all down. I'm dying to get right into the "eating disorder thing" with my psychiatrist, but that's really not what I'm there for.

Kat, have you got all your cleaning done for you company? What a great excuse to clean, huh? Sometimes it's the only way to get any done.

Jennelle, are you alright? How was your day?

Sarah... how's your crappy job going, hon? Shall I find you another?

Yes, it was pretty darned cold out today. I'm feeling a little dizzy right now... I wonder if I got an inner ear "thing" from the cold. I WAS really bundled up. In fact, I looked a complete freak in my hat, scarves, sunglasses, wind-proof pants...

Just getting the children to bed... love to all of you...
