hi there,
I'm back from London and we had a pretty decent time. I'm not so tired from my trip, but I had the cat howling at me all night long, so that made for a long night.
Our flights were okay, I have to say that I am exceedingly tired of flying and its not very glam even in a premium product. I am really jaded and I will pay for it I'm sure when I am stuck in row 45 between two people who have been travelling for 3 days straight without a shower and talking to me all night long.
Our trip --
We ate at a few new places (
Smiths of smithfield in the Smithfield meat market, hung out at the
borough market , walked around the
Tate Modern and took in the new Eliasson exhibit. I got a haircut while Taller half hung out at
Pret a Manger , we went to
Wagamama's for lunch to fulfill her noodle needs. We walked around Soho and went to Neal's yard dairy to pick up some cheese, did a bit of window shopping and then went back to victoria to pick up our bags and go home. We had a nice dinner at home, caught up with everyone and then collapsed. The second day we slept in, got up, went to the post office and mailed off some of our christmas books. We went in London, hung out at
St. James' Park and Pall Mall , walked up through Picadilly and Regent's Street to
Andrew Edmunds for a nice lunch and left before the b*st*rds started to smoke cigars. Then we went to
Liberty of London to do a bit of salivating at the Arts and Crafts pieces, looked at soft furnishings and fabric and left empty handed. We went up to
LIttle Venice via Warwick Street, walked around for a while trying to price property (so, if we sold all our holdings, could we afford to buy in this neighborhood? -- probably, but we couldn't afford heat or food!). We then joined up a bunch of flyertalkers for dinner in Soho and then went to the
Groucho Club for a drink. We unfortunately ended up leaving the club at the same time the bars all closed. Nonetheless, we made it home in one piece and ended up getting about 4 hours of sleep before our cab ride to Victoria and our departure to Dallas where the flying time was only 10 hours just to Dallas and another 4 to Seattle

.
Unlike Melissa, we experienced pretty decent weather and arrived in Seattle
15 minutes early. This makes up for our 4 hour delay on Jan 6 due to snow.
We had a nice time, I spent little money and I think at Valentine's day, I'll opt to stay with my aunt for one day and save another 150 bucks. That and I like to see her.
My TOM started, so I am going to my meeting this week, but I am not getting on the scale. I am happy to pay someone 12 bucks to just sit and listen and try and understand why I am doing all these things to myself.
Melissa -- I think you are going to have a great time. As it stands now, we are waffling on our March trip. We may stay in London (free place) and go to Scotland for two or three days. Maybe our times will coincide.
I'll post later.
