nobody home?

just stopped by to lurk a bit, and saw no daily- I thought, what's up with that!

I've not been around, but stop to read from time to time. my eating is all over the place, nutritious, but with sweets and oatmeal and pasta thrown in. Trying to keep portions small though. As usual, not gaining, not loosing.

But I think of you and are glad to see so many old timers here and new gfaces as well.

How's rehearsal going, Ruth?

LindaBC, congrats on the atkins 72 discovery. I think that is key, not to drop fat too much, and not to raise carbs. You're inspiring me.

Wow!!! Dottiejon!! Good to see your bright & shining self this morning.......... Would you like a cup of coffee? It's hot - not quite as good as when dh makes, it, but - it IS caffein!!!

It is surprising that no one seems to be home today...... I'm getting a late start today, don't have to be at work until 11, so here I am.

Well, today was "official" scale day: 5 lbs in 2 weeks back OP. Not terrific, but as I look at it, 5 lbs gone is better than 5 lbs found any day of the week! Thanks to LindaBC, I'm trying the Atkins72 (only probably eating more veggies than I "should" - but heck! I didn't get fat on string beans and salad!)

Good to see you pop in Dottie, Pooky posted a few days ago, first time in a very long time.

We'll we've been painting, and Im not so sure I like the colours!!!! Hopefully when I walk in today, and its all dry it will be the colour on the card swatch I picked out. Right now its just wayyyyyyy too orange. Its suppose to be "rum cream" and so far...its NOT....its "burnt orange". If I have to repaint the entire store again, because the colours weren't mixed properly, Im NOT going to be happy! Aside from that, my body is achingly sore....I was up and down on the stool, because hubby had the ladder to do the high spots.....then I came home and thought I had better work out right away or it wasnt going to happen. I just pushed everything yesterday too much, and paid for it all night. I'll take it a bit easier today, but we still have alot of work to do. Tomorrow, I want to start on the moose and pictographs on the upper walls....I'll take pictures when Im done. (if I like my results )

Last night we went to the business association party. We had a great time, seen alot of ppl I dont usually see. Hubby usually goes to the monthly meetings, and I stay home. He fills me in on whats happening when he gets home. So it was nice to catch up with everyone. I had 2 glasses of wine, some sort of spinach bruchetta, and one slice of pizza....buy the time I got home I was ready to devour the chocolate bar I had in the freezer! So I compromised, I had 2 pcs off of it, some chicken and a bun lol.....well I thought it was better than the entire thing (its very big)! Im back to behaving today

Been busy, busy with MOD crap! First one who's in should at least start us up, I guess. We have loads of new folks over on SBD and, although ellis is a mod there too, we are both kept pretty busy. Pluse, as super-mod, I cruise the boards looking for people I can kill!

Big news today! My homemaker comes tomorrow for her first visit and Kevin came as promised and finished the last batch of odd jobs! I should have asked him to shovel but I was just darn glad to see the last of him for a while.

Rehearsals are going well. We will be in costume for Sunday's because the Press will be there. I'm wearing a long black velvet skirt and a black LS top with discrete beading at the neckline and no spectacular cleavage! I almost know all my lines.

Have to go out and shovel the side porch and back deck and lug in some firewood. This is not at all like Little House On The Prairie - no kids to do the chores.

Ruthie, Do you thing Gail would come to Dallas every two weeks? My cleaning lady just quit (before I had a chance to fire her!) And I've got Bunko at my house tomorrow.

Oh, Barb - you play Bunco too? I just played with my group on Tuesday. Ummmm, just remembered, I guess I'm going to have to start hosting my group once in a while now. SH never wanted me to have them over so I would host at someone else's house and just bring all the food/drink/prizes but now I can have them here!

Today was my last day on that huge audit where I had to commute about 50 minutes away. I have tomorrow off. Boy and I happy about that! I've got lots of stuff to catch up on.

Sorry I've been MIA lately - this working thing is hard! (whine, whine, snivel)

Ok - so I'm going to just SAY IT HERE so that I will have to be accountable: I've decided to START making babysteps back towards low carb eating. I will increase my water intake AND eat chicken salad for lunch tomorrow. I will make some sugarfree pudding and NOT eat any regular sugar stuff. (so those are my babysteps and I will work on some more stuff next week - unless it's really hard and then I'll just stick with this for a while)

Gotta run (ummm, well, errrr, actually I'm going to slug off - not run) and do a load of laundry and veg on the couch for a while. New Will/Grace and Scrubs tonight but a rerun of Friends and ER (drat!)
