Clean Eats for Friday - Oct 17

  • Hi Everybody. It seems that since I have been eating high-pro for 6 weeks, my weight loss has slowed down. Previously, I would eat high-pro the day after lifting, and my 'modified' Phase 1 of SBD consisting of 100g protein and low-gly carbs the other days. Eating high-pro every day has significantly upped my fat intake (I know, but it's good fat.) Not only am I not losing poundage, I haven't lost any inches around my waist.

I just spent an hour analyzing my Fitday account over the past 4 months. I know me and I will get discouraged if I don't keep losing, so I'm going back to what I was doing previously to see what happens. It's about experimentation, right? I think when I lose more body fat, I can try high-pro as a way of maintenance and retaining/building more muscle.

(Changed my signature because the ladies I was in the 10/31 challenge with aren't going to make their goals. But I will because I AM DOING THIS!)

  • Hey Dip! When you read the Venuto book, you'll see that you did exactly what he recommends: constantly monitor your progress and change what isn't working for you. Many times he makes the point that there is no program that works for everyone, all the time and you need to bail out of anything that isn't working for you.

  • Just wanted to add something to what Meg said - LOVED the Venuto book. GOOD STUFF THERE for sure!
  • I didn't realize Venuto's book was an "e-book" so I sent my $39 and downloaded it. I hate reading that much info, especially when I'm devouring it, on the computer. My bi-focals aren't cut to handle monitor reading. We have a huge printer that requires $200 ink cartridges, but I picked up a cheap black ink printer for the things such as this. I just have to go and buy some paper, though. I can see already from what I've read so far, that the purchase was worth it.

Thanks for the tip, Meg and Karen! Mucho appreciated!
