I just started Atkins yesterday and have some questions.....
1. Can I or can I not have strawberries during the induction period? I thought from the book that I couldn't but some of the recipes that I see on-line include strawberries. I know I can have berries later in the plan but I thought I couldn't for a couple of weeks.
2. Can I have the carb-controlled tortillas? I also read that I should have no bread of any kind during the first two weeks but again when I look at induction recipes on line it shows using the tortillas.
3. Does anyone have any good snack ideas for the induction period. I am already a little tired of cheese.

Don't be afraid that you will overdo the protein. Your appetite will naturally decrease as you go along and after a few weeks, you will be satisfied with much less. Make lots and lots of meatballs (without filler crumbs but you could use a few crushed pork rinds, egg, chopped mushrooms for moistness and seasonings). Freeze them in serving size portions and when you need a snack, just nuke a few and serve with different low carb dipping sauces like salsa, sour cream, mustard, soy sauce, etc. If you can find breakfast sausages that don't contain a lot of breadcrumbs, cook up extra and keep them in the fridge for an instant hunger appeaser. Otherwise, buy ground pork and make your own sausages using various seasonings. They don't have to be tube-shaped. Sausage patties are good too. Somewhere around here we have a tried and true recipe for them.
Sad but true, actually anything that is a prepared food, even the low carb varieties are not good on induction. I think the best rule of thumb I went by is eat as close to nature as possible while on induction. Try to eat only foods that look nearly the same as they did when they came from the earth. My snacks for the first few days were of course cheese, lots of hard boiled eggs, cucumbers, and I always, to this day, have cut lettuce in my fridge. And it does get easier!
Berries came third week after I had dropped 10lbs and I knew this was going to work for me.
