3rd Day on the Beach and a Question?

  • So far so good on my Beach run! I was wondering if anyone here has stayed in Phase 1 longer than the 2wk period and if so, did your fat loss continue or did you see a slow down?
  • I don't believe the weight would continue to leave as quickly as in the first two weeks, but I couldn't WAIT to finish Phase 1 so I could have SOME additional carbs. I'm thinking to continue with a good weight loss after Phase 1, you could alternate days with a Phase 2 carb one day, and strictly Phase 1 the next day.

    Just my opinion.

    Tricia
  • Thank you! I don't know if I could handle it either! LOL But I thought if it would bring more fat off, I'd stick it out an extra week.
  • Mindi~~I stayed on Phase 2 longer than the 2 weeks but added new foods in very slowly. I continued to lose weight but it did slow down. Actually, I was alittle scared to go into P2, so I took it VERY slowly by adding only one new carb at a time. The first few days are the most dificult, and then it actually becomes easy.

I alternate phase 2 with a few days here and there on P1. I now try to stay in a P1 mode when TOM is around and this has greatly reduced my water retention problems.

One great thing that has come out of this is that I have gotten rid of my cravings for chips and ice cream.

I think that everybody has a different results with staying in P1 longer and it depends on how much weight you have to lose, exercise and what food choices/portions you are making.
  • thank you Tricia and 2B,
I am going to do the 2 day Phase2 and one day strict Phase1 or something of the sort. Figure it out so that the weekends are the phase2.
I bought a bunch of things to go back into the carbs but I am scared of the not losing. I lost 16 pounds the first 2 weeks and nothing so far since(1 1/2 weeks) -guess I am ahead of the game. I am trying to think long term. and to stay OFF the scale.

Hopefully this will kickstart my weight loss again
  • Hey thanks for the information. I like this idea of alternating P1 and P2, Sil.

I have to say that so far, so good. I've not lost 'gas' so to speak, to fuel my workouts, (mostly weight training), which makes me happy. I was concerned about a loss of energy and strength because of lack of complex carbs.
  • I completed Phase 1 about a week ago, and lost 5 pounds.

I'm moving very slowly into Phase 2...actually only adding a fruit or 2 this week. I need to lose 5 or 6 more pounds, and I know they will come off slowly. This is not as important as the fact that I have lost the cravings I used to have for snack foods! It was really getting out of hand before I began SBD!

I'm happy to say that this feeling that I always have to stick junk into my mouth has now dissappeared! I move very cautiously back to "carbs" because I think this is where my downfall was!

    Good luck!
