anyone else with little success?

  • I cant believe I started another diet and it did not work. 10 days on phase one of the beach. very hard to stay with - but I think I would if I saw any hope of success...and lost 2 lbs. the first day and no more.....
  • Jane, don't give up too soon. I was somewhat disappointed to only lose 5 pounds during the first two weeks, but I did lose even more on Phase II.
Have you noticed anything else? Do you feel any better for cutting out the carbs/sugar? My heartburn was gone within a week... a big plus.
  • Jane: I agree with Ellis. Don't give up too soon. I too lost my heartburn, and I too lost 5 lbs only, on my phase 1. But little by little I'm coming down. We are all so different, with different metabolism, etc, and things just affect each person differently.

I know some people have done phase 1 for longer than 2 weeks. As we have all been sharing, it also seems that if a person has been dieting before, that the amount you lose will probaly be smaller. Also read that the less you have to lose the smaller your initial loss might be. Don't know if any of that could apply to you, But don't give up. We are all here for you. Check back and let us know how you are doing. Ann(Lizzie)
  • Jane, please don't give up on SBD! There are so many factors that affect how much you lose and how fast...but the bottom line is you are eating healthier and that HAS to be a positive thing!

Maybe you need to "tweak" your daily menus? You might not be getting enough food. If your body feels starved it becomes very, very territorial with those fat cells and just won't give up an ounce! Or maybe there are better choices you could be making from the acceptable foods list...we all have to find out what works best for US. Exercise is another important aspect to weight loss for most people. Studies have shown that people who incorporate activity into their routines when they are trying to lose weight lose more, lose faster, stick with a WOE for much longer, and keep the weight off easier! Hard to argue with those kinds of statistics!

Ten days isn't really long enough to see major changes in your body composition, either. Most people seem to lose a lot of water weight in the first few days, but not everyone does. It takes a few weeks to really start reaping the benefits of this program.

I, like Ellis & Lizziepie, had a lot of heartburn, but haven't had any at all! I sleep better, have more energy, my skin is clearer and my hair is shinier. And those are just the change I can SEE!

Please try and hang in there! Come here often for advice and support...it can make all the difference in the world!
  • I'm glad I'm not the only one not doing so well. I thought I was doing something wrong. I've only lost about 3 lbs and I'm into day 12th day. But I guess it affects all of us differently. I did purchase a skirt last weekend and it's a Large....and I'm wearing it today. You can imagine the joy the of that.
