  • I thought maybe those following the MRC would post in this thread through the summer so we can all share our successes and struggles.

I finished my 4 days of the pre-conditioning food plan and weighed in today for the first time. I lost an amazing 4.5lbs this week. I cannot believe that in four days of being on the Pre-conditioning food plan I lost 4.5lbs AND I have my period. I am super excited. I know that I cannot expect this type of weight loss every week but I will take it for this week.

One thing that I am proud of myself for is limiting my alcohol intake this week. I got way to use to have a couple drinks each night when I would get home from work to eliminate the mundane nightly routine but this week the only alcohol I have had was on Wednesday when we met friends for dinner.

I went to the food class today and have a list of things to pick up at the grocery store to begin this new journey. I am nervous about the weekend, it is hard to stick to a schedule over the weekends but I am going to take things one day at a time and do my very best to stick to the menu plan.
  • Congratulations!!!
4.5 lbs that is awesome and you are allowed to drink alcohol - I will go to your center.

I am going on vacation in June and I love to enjoy at least a drink once in a while. I will ask my consultant next week if it is possible at all. I am extremely worried about a possible weight gain when I have to eat out for 2 weeks.

    Good luck on your journey!

  • I don't know if alochol is "allowed" but I am going to allow myself to have an occasional drink. My feeling is that if it is a small amount occasion it is not going to affect my weight loss greatly. That is my own personal feelings now. I am new to the program so if I do see there is a big difference between weeks that I have a couple of drinks and weeks that I don't then I will consider giving it up for the 20 weeks of the program.
  • Weigh in after one week of graduation & farewell parties. I did not gain any weight. Yeah!!!

I am leaving on Sunday for a 3 week vacation, I have discussed alcohol use and my consultant said it would be fine in moderation. I should make good choices when I am eating out.
  • CONGRANTS on maintaining after so many parties!!! Woo Hoo!!!

I weighed in Tuesday and did not have a loss but am not surprised after my loss last Friday. I go back on Thursday and will be out of town for the Holiday weekend. I am very nervous out it and plan to take food that I can eat but sometimes being around junk and eating out makes it REALLY hard to stay on track.

Have a great time on your vacation CC. 3 weeks - bliss!!!
  • So I was a bit disappointed when I weighed in today. My first weigh in this week I maintained, which after such a big loss the week before, I accepted OK but today I only had a .5lb loss. I have done my very best to stick to the plan all week and showing such a small loss the first week makes me sad.
I know my body is probably in shock from such a drastic diet change and I have lost 5lbs within two weeks and I know that is really good but I still hoped for a bigger loss.
Have done my best to prepare for the holiday weekend and am determined to stay as close to on plan as possible.
  • Do not worry, I have had a similar experience. My body needs to adjust to the weight loss. It still continues for me. I stick to the plan and it is working for me. I am never really hungry, I try to switch between different veggies & salads, different proteins each day. Sometimes it is not the pounds, it's the inches you are losing. I am down 25 lbs and 35 inches as of today. I am going away for the next 3 weeks on vacation, I just found out - if I am losing weight during the 3 weeks, my center will add the 3 weeks on to my weeks of the plan. This keeps me motivated.
In March I maintained my weight on a 9 day vacation, so I think it might be possible. I am not sure if I should weigh myself during the vacation if the fitness center has a scale.

Good luck to everyone, I will check in once a week.

  • Chocolate Cheesecake - Thee weeks of vacation sounds like heaven to me. The most I get is 1 week at a time. I hope that you have an amazing trip. I will admit that eating out 2/3 times a day and trying to stay on a diet would be really rough for me. Good luck!

I made it through the holiday weekend pretty well. The worst meal I ate was a hotdog on a bun and about a cup of pasta salad. I did have a few drinks but did not go crazy and stayed away from the sugary ones I enjoy during the summer. I did not get any exercise in. I had planned to take some walks while we were gone but it rained everyday except one and that day we spent on the water all day. My scale showed a small loss, about a pound but I know that I have to use the centers scale and it might read something different. I am going to weigh in tomorrow so we will see.
  • It has been a month or so of my being off track. Today is my day 1 back on program. I am going into the center tomorrow to talk to some folks. I am going to also get a replacement copy of my green program. I have been that far off track that I lost my program stuff. I have to do this for myself and my family. I deserve better.

I am also going on a mission trip to Guatemala in January. It will be hot there, and I need to be in good shape! We will be doing a lot of walking, so I need to be more fit. Weighing less will make everything I am going to be doing there so much easier.

This weekend was rough, but I am looking forward to getting back on track.
  • Amandarowe- Congrats for making the decision to get back on track. I have to say, MRC is a strict food plan and it has been challenging for me to stay on track also. Your mission trip sounds like fun and a good goal to set for yourself.

I am ending my third week, pre menu week and 2 wks of the food program, today when I weighed in, I lost 1lb. I am happy because we were away from home over the holiday weekend. While I did pretty good at staying on track, I did drink more and the food was not perfect.
I will take the pound though.
  • I made it through another weekend staying on plan at least 90%. I did have a couple extra pieces of bread last night which was not on plan but I really tried drinking water and eating the correct foods. I am not sure what to expect when I weigh in tomorrow, hoping to see a loss but I have not had any huge losses since the first week. I am doing my best to stay the course, knowing the weight will eventually start to go away if I do what I need to. Just hard to be patience. Ug.
  • Weighed in today and lost 2.5 lbs, down to 189.5. Super excited with my progress. Going to hit the 10lb mark in the next week. Fingers crossed!!!
  • Great job on the loss this week! I stayed on plan pretty well today. I'm taking baby steps. My breakfast was non existent because I was in a huge hurry and didn't get to eat. I added a little extra to my lunch which almost balanced it out. It feels so good to have had a good food day today.
  • Amandarowe - Congrats on have a good day. Baby steps is all we can do. I try not to look to far into the future or set long term goals on this diet, I take it one day at a time. My goal for each day has been to stay on plan..I am better some days than others.

    Best of luck to you!!!
  • Hi ya'll! Today is my last day of preconditioning. Tomorrow I start the Meat Lovers Plan. I was wondering if you all could help me understand what the different colored menus mean?
