  • Hi everybody! Sunday afternoon here and thought I'd drop in so I won't be so far behind next time. I think I'm going to make an early dinner today because breakfast was a sham. Honey got up, then me. We're both holding off eatting anything until the boys rise. #1 son gets up, pours himself a bowl of cereal. I'm like "ok, we were waiting for everyone to get up so I could make some breakfast". He tries to tell me it was only a bowl of cereal like he NEEDS to have more to eat. NOT!!! The 'baby' doesn't get up for another hour. So much for Sunday morning breakfast together!

Michelle: I guess I'll put my two cents worth in on the potty training issue. #1 son just woke up one day when he was just two and began pooping in the potty. It took another couple of months to get peeing down pat. I was a bit frustrated thinking if he could do one, he could certainly do the other. Well, along about September, we made it about Santa Claus. You know, "Santa's coming soon and wouldn't he be surprised if we could tell him you go potty in the potty?" It worked, no big problem. They are soooo much smarter than we give them credit for!!! As for the VCR you might want to use that as a potty training reward. Never know what a little 'incentive' might do for the situation.

Sandy: You know how when you go into the cosmetics department to buy a lipstick, the lipsticks are all displayed neatly in these like plastic cubes that are divided into spaces for each color??? Well those cubes are all snapped onto/into the pegboard behind them. Most makeup is displayed in these whether it's powder or eyeshadow or whatever. Anyway, my project is to take all of the old 'cubes' off the wall, install new cubes, put all the merchandise back where it goes and then put up the inventory/UPC tags in the right places so the store personnel can reorder when the slots are empty. It is a HUGE project. I'm doing Almay in some stores, REVLON in some and BOTH in others. And I'm telling you, by the end of the day, I'm exhausted!!!! How was the movie? I haven't seen it, but I heard the book was real good.

Terri: I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. It sounds like it was a blessing for him as it was for mine a couple of weeks ago. Hope your drive with your brother was safe and that you were able to 'catch up'. * Is the new filly an offspring of your first horse, or did you get a new one??? Either way, how cool. Can't wait to see pics.

Katrina: Boy, your daughter's play is just getting over with in time for her to leave for college. When does she start? * I was reading that there's a camp in NY someplace that has produced a number of actors. (well, I guess I shouldn't say 'produced', but several stars have spent some time at that camp is a better way to put it) Anyway, I guess there's a film coming out about the camp. Do you know what I'm talking about, or am I just babbling here?????

Pam: I don't know how I stand that long either! But you're right about the hips spreading from sitting. If I could get rid of my a$$, I would be one happy camper! I was doing my 'bra job' on Wednesday and this older woman came up to me and said "you have the biggest hips I've ever seen". I said, "But I'm a nice person." She said, trying to get her foot out of her mouth, "no, you have such big hips and such a tiny waist. You should be a model." I'm like, yeah right! So she further goes on to say that I truly should model because the guys would say, "give me some of that booty." I wanted to smack the $hit out of her! Like I say, she was older and you'd think she would have had more common sense than to say things like this. The trouble is, there was no mallace in her face. I think she thought she was giving me a compliment. How sick is that??? Oh well.

JoeAnne: I'm glad that there is hope for some resolution in the youth group issue. * Try not to stress so much, you've got to keep up the exercise for yourself. It's so hard to concentrate on the things we need to do for ourselves when we're so busy helping out everyone else. Have you ever noticed how most heavy people are really 'giving' people??? I have. And I think it's because we're always putting everything and everybody before our own needs.

Justme: Sorry to hear about your tif with the DB. Hope you can work it all out. [[[hugs]]]

Mary: Sorry your life sounds like it's in a slump too. Gotta keep focussed! * How's your son's phneumonia? Hope he's feeling better. * Are they interviewing employees for that job at the library yet? Hope you're going to get some relief soon.

Andria: I'm not sure there is a "TMI line" on this thread! I'm sorry that that is how things are at your house. Ya see, my honey could complain of the same thing. He's almost always going to bed before me. I stay up on the computer, mostly finishing up paperwork that I could have done earlier in the evening. Our 'big and tastys' are few and far between. He gave up begging long ago. A friend of mine told me years ago that it seems like the place where most 'opposites attract' is in the bedroom, meaning of all of our couple friends, one of the partners was always more interested than the other. Funny how that is. Anyway, I hope that you can get it worked out. I've been working on it for 27 years and nothing's resolved. Boy, that sounded pretty pathetic, didn't it??? Sorry.

2cute: It sounds like after this week you and your daughter need to have some fun. Enjoy your day!

Well girls, it's 3:00 and I think I'm going to go put some dinner on. I bought some bi-color corn at the market yesterday. It looked real good. And I'm thinking maybe chicken breasts on the grill. I did get some of that stuffing mix and zucchini for that casserole so maybe I'll do that too with some baked potatoes. Dang! I'm making myself hungry.

Hope you all have a great day. I'm off tomorrow doing 'bank jobs' and post offices. Not as exhausting! I'll see you later.

  • PEEK~A~BOO
  • Sandy, how was the movie? I read the book this summer and LOVED it!

I'm reading A Painted House now, by John Grisham...very good...not about lawyers...(I thought all his books were!)

    What's everyone else reading?
  • The movie was pretty good, it kept my attention so that is always a plus. I have not read the book, but think I might now.
  • Geeesh...how disappointing....I have been here so many times since 5 pm and no one has posted!! I'm going to shower and go to bed!!
  • Hi Ladies,
Doesn't look like I am going to have time to catch up. We just finished dinner and I still have to pack hubby up and do a little cleaning. It's going to be a crazy week. DH has to go into NYC tomorrow for work and will probably be there until Thursday. I am leaving on Thurs. afternoon for FL to spend a a few days with my family.

Kat and Michelle - Peddler's Village sounds like fun to me. I can't do the following Saturdays: 9/13, 9/20, 10/11, 10/18. What does that leave us with???

Wishing everyone a great evening! Talk to you tomorrow.

  • I'm here in spirit
  • Hey, I'm here...Grease was wonderful...this was a bittersweet show for them, it's their last of the season, and a lot of the kids are off to college in the next few weeks. My daughter has been doing shows here for the last four summers...so, it's like graduation from "the Barn" too. They're all nice kids, and I must say, it's been wonderful knowing where she spent the majority of her time...either at rehearsals or doing the shows.. The movie you were talking about, Thin, is titled Camp. My little actress is anxious to see it...

Okay, I have to go to work in a few minutes. I will check my calendar tomorrow for a good PV date, Barb and Michelle.

    Nighty night, all...
  • HI guys... I am getting tired of saying I don't have time to post... but I don't.
I am sooo sleepy but I had to peek in and see what everyone was up to.
Had a great relaxing day with daughter. We did water workout together for 30-40 minutes and then just floated in the pool for an hour or more. Ahhhhhhh

Then I took a mini nap in the sun and it felt great.
Did a little running around... went out for dinner (ate like a maniac)... then when we came home my neighbor was getting ready to have a garage sale so I went and bought a bunch of her stuff.
She had seven outside Xmas reindeer and a tree with white lights. And this huge wreath for $5 each. You know the reindeers... they move their heads like they are eating. They were the BIG ones too. I am a happy shopper.

I also bought a comforter, a shelf, a flower pot, a doll baby cradle for my grandbabies, a basket full of fake fruit and veggies.
It is so funny that I spend so much time getting rid of stuff in my garage sale... and then come buy so much at hers. LOL

I am about to fall asleep as I type. I love you all but too tired to reply to everyone. For some reason I feel that Sara Joy may be reading this... if you are... please post and let us know how you are.

    Good night everyone.
  • Morning Chicklets,

2cute: What a steal on those moving reigndeer! They are so cute to see on lawns at night all lit up. And besides, like we said when you had your sale this weekend, another mans garbage.....and I would have to say you found some nice Treasures!!! I'm still jealous aobut the pool.

Okay girls, listen up, today is a new day and a new start for all of us (me included here) who have been having a hard time of it lately. I don't expect any of us to be perfect and there will be days that we just can't do it. I'm not saying I am gonna be on track 100%, but today I am gonna try yet again. I think if I journal it helps me lots, I am more true to what I am putting in my mouth. So, if I can stay away from the chips and chocolate I will be A.O.K. I stepped on the scales yesterday and I just don't like what I see!!! The numbers are a creeping back up on me again. And I am gonna do that WATP tape (part of it) today if it kills me!! I need to get this body moving again. I hate when I start having to really put effort into getting out of bed in the morning and being tired all day after a nights sleep!! So off these pounds need to come yet again. Together we can do it, I know we can......And I know you are all here to help as I am for you.

    Luv and Hugs,
    Sandy

  • Good Monday Morning All of you Chicklets!!

Mary, I hate those nasty UTI's..feel better soon okay?

Katrina, I read Painted House it was wonderful, the Hallmark Channel had it on at the end of April I think, it was good but of course the book was better, I like John Grisham. One of my favorite authors, yes you are right all of his have been of the legal genre..with the exception of Painted House and a little book called Skipping Christmas (good story, I read it over the holiday last year). Not reading anything right now, but always on the look out for a new book, I love to read! such an escape, and expands my horizons. Right now I want to DO, TEND TO GET TOO CAUGHT UP IN READING SOMETIMES, AND SOMETIMES USED IT AS AN ESCAPE AND AN EXCUSE TO SIT ON THE SIDE LINES. Trying to discern now whether or not I was reading for pleasure or reading to escape, and using it as an excuse to stay in and cut myself off from the rest of the world, think I did too much of that, but WHAT A WAY TO GO, UH??

sorry girls, I get off on tangents sometimes, find myself being so "chatty" lately, but my silence and my secrets kept me sick if you know what I mean. Stuffed EVERYTHING down with food if you can relate

Sandy, you go girl, that is a great goal for today, I will do it with you, come on my friend, you can do it!! let's go!

  • Here's my post
    You all are right!
It's time for me now, and not always be second or last in my life.
For today I went for a nice quick paced walk of 1 mile at 22:32 minutes which is pretty good for me.
I cooked a low carb breakfast, got my daughter off to school, give her praise for going to a school where most of her best friends don't go, and for wanting to be successful by her own achievements.
And that's just the beginning of MY day.
You all have FUN FABULOUS DAY
