Pcos?

  • Anyone here have PCOS? Its polycystic ovary syndrome if you don't know. I have health related problems due to it such as hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, skin tags, and weight gain. It is very hard for me to lose weight with the PCOS/thyroid combo. It gets very frustrating. I've been working out doing water aerobics and step aerobics for about a month and I've put on weight instead of lost. I know that I need to diet but I just don't know where to start. Any advice? By the way I'm new to the group and just trying to catch up on everyone. Thanks - Aim
  • First of all...you've come to a great place! I don't have your problem, but I do have other health issues, so I can relate. I have severe back problems from a car accident that has me on disability. I also have RA, which has given me all kinds of problems, including fluid retention.

There are severe threads on this board... you might want to try a few out to see which ones you like best. Or we can talk & encourage. That's what I started doing with "grieving", then 2 others joined us, now, we've changed the name to "grateful". Come on over there & join us if you like.

Have you ask a dr about your weight loss? There might be a medication you could take to help it along. I don't mean anything major. Just something controlled by your dr.

I've been taking Cider Vinegar Pills from Wal-Mart ($3.98) & they're really helping me. I can't exercise at all & I've lost 26 lbs since April 23. Of course, I've watch my calorie & carb intake, also.

Again, glad you have joined the board. I wish you a lot of luck. Hope to hear from you again!
  • Eating the least amount of carbs and fats in your foods will help.I have this problem and have diabetes so i have no choice but to diet.Try this and see how it works out for you.Wish ya luck!
