Just got back from the doctor's office. She told me the results of my latest blood work: everything in the ideal range, with triglycerides especially low. It seems my high-carb diet isn't doing my lipid levels any harm. This is not to suggest that everyone should follow a high-carb diet, just to do my bit to dispel the myth that high carb equals trouble for everyone.
Now I'm off to San Francisco, where I'll be facing major food temptations for four days. (The project supervisor is a big foodie and always books ultra-gourmet, ultra-interesting restaurants for our team.) I hope I can survive without gaining weight. Correction: I KNOW I can survive without gaining weight. Wish me luck.

California has the best Mexican food in the US and although Southern is better than Northern, you should be able to still find some that is excellent. It is also a good place for Chinese food although I'm guessing Toronto also has good Chinese food.
