Wacky Wednesday Chik-Chat - 7/9

  • Good Morning my chicky friends! Pass the mugs - it's time to get the day started !!
  • Could I have a refill, Janice?

off to wake up the big kid for football camp. He has trouble getting in the little car with his shoulder pads on. He stinks when he comes home.

    I guess life is good?

  • Flyby post! Thanks for starting us up, Janice.

Shirelyanne is out deciding which perennials need deadheading and I'm grabbing a quick Net fix.

Exciting morning yesterday. Shirl walked Hersh and looked kind of strange when she came back. She confessed that she thought she was having either a heart attack or an anxiety attack! So off to Emergency we went - 30 minute drive. She was OK, thank God - she's been pretty stressed and it was "just" anxiety. She's got some magic pills for it now. Whew!

We went out to lunch at The Galley and watched all the rich people (with perfect tans and bodies) play in their boats. I'd committted to the kids' programme at the Library so popped in there in the p.m. while S. had a long nap.

Turkey brochettes for BBQ dinner were a great hit although Harry forgot to put on the bacon strips. S. and I stayed up late and chatted - you'd think after 45 years we'd have said it all, wouldn't you?

So now we start the last day of her visit. We will take off for Ottawa after lunch. I'll check in tonight.
  • Ruth, I so know how your friend feels. When I was first diagnosed, it does feel like you're having a heart attack. Can't tell you how many monitors I was hooked up to. There are some good meds out there for anxiety. I highly recommend her going to see her doctor when she gets home to go on some meds to even out her system.

Peachie, are stinky kids ever a good thing?

    G'mornin' Janice!

I have to take Miree to her daycamp this morning and we might go swimming again this afternoon. Hard to occupy her when dh is out of town, she does love her daddy

As for me a couple of loads of laundry and a little break.

    Have a great day everyone!
  • Yah!!!!! I have my house back!!

MIL is gone back, Ive been vacuuming up pills, and god knows what else out of my daughters room (thats where MIL stayed and she's 80!) My daughter and I have had a very serious talk about finding pills around the house, especially since MIL kept them all over the dining room table most of the day. Until it was time for supper. Oh!! then....she picks up all kinds of peanut butter candy bars, and proceeds to eat them in my daughters room (dd is allergic to peanuts) so I have been cleaning like a fool this morning. (thank god, my daughter has only a mild allergic reaction compared to others)

I was going to start induction today, now that most of the stress is gone, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow, I would love to have a few gasses of wine tonight. I still have to get a few groceries...so I think tomorrow will be a better day to start

Man I just dont deal well with stress anymore!! It used to be part of my everyday life, and I thrived on it. I guess we all change, and there are reasons for everything.

I have lots of catching up to do on everyones posts. I hope everyone is doing great.

    Have a great wednesday everybody
    Robin
  • Good Afternoon chickies!

Lovely hot day here, we have lost much of the humidity. I managed to get some weeding done and a little of house cleaning. I am now home all the time and still cannot keep my house clean!

Guess what no baseball tonight. We have nothing to do. Maybe it will be a family night with dinner at the table and a movie for us all to watch together.

Adoannie ~ nice to see you again. If you have not noticed I have lost my job after 20 years, a victim of merger downsizing. I am enjoying the summer with my boys. Sounds like you are just as busy as ever with your son. He is almost 17, wow, they do grow up in a hurry.

Janice ~ Boy you are up early these days. Thanks for starting the morning coffee, remember to make mine leaded!

Ruth ~ I glad your friend is doing ok. How is Hershey doing? I think I am about ready to take any pup I can find. My heart is with the PWD, but I need a doggie and soon. As long as I am home, it would be a good time to train a pup.

Pooky ~ Lovely to hear about that little miree again. One thing I miss about posting is not only my friends, but how the little ones are doing.

Robin ~ Glad you have your home back. I know how you gotta watch the grandparents pills, we have to discuss that around here also.

Peachie ~ Football practice in this heat hope the big guy is doing ok in the heat.

    Have a great day!
  • Hello to one and all!!!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Wednesday! DH and I too our boat out on the lake last night and had dinner out...minus the kids, it was nice. Work is crazy as usual....Starting SBeach tommorrow, we shall see how it goes I broke out the book last night and am heading to the store tonite!

Glad to hear everyone is doing ok. Ruth - there is a place in heaven for you - you are a wonderful friend!
  • Hi, Chicks, nice to see your smiling faces.
Ruth, you are a good pal. I'm sure your friend really appreciates the sanctuary and peace she has found during her break with you. I hope she gets some help for her anxiety. I know the feeling, heart pounding, breathless, weak. Yoiks! What stress will do to us!
DonDar, I know what you're talking about. I've been working from our home office since 1992 and the longer I've been home, the messier my house has become and the less inclined I am to clean it. My desk at my outside jobs was never as cluttered as the one here.
Peachy, not sure how old your big guy is but boys especially seem to go through a smelly stage in adolescence. I only had girls but when the grandsons have stayed a few days I always had to remind them to shower, use their deodorant, and change their underwear. Sheesh! As for stinky little ones...well, the payoff is when you get them bathed and they are so sweet and cuddly and cute. Who can resist the moppets?
Robin, I understand your concerns about your MIL and her pills. That would be a big worry because you wouldn't know if they were spilled or if she'd forgotten to take them. Enjoy your mini-break.
Well, not much new here. I'm off to see the doc soon about my very swollen knee and a few other aches and pains. I save them up for my rare visits. I swear the guy gringes when he sees me coming.
Lovely day here. As for diet...well, I'm trying to stay fairly low carb and just see how it goes....probably more Atkins than South Beach at the moment, just trying to get myself back into low carb mode. I made a big batch of oven fried chicken which I'm nibbling on and it's really helping to curb those carb cravings. We all know the secret to sticking to a plan is to BE PREPARED and that's what I'm gonna have to do better from now on. No more grazing through the cabinets....and, by the way, Ruthie, I don't have any more pistachios in my cupboards. I do have almonds and walnuts in the freezer. Oh, and speaking of freezers, I bought some sugar free Revels yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed one until I looked at the nutritional info and discovered they have 14 gr. carbs each. Must be more careful.

  • Linda, my big kid is 10. He came home the other night, stripped down to next to nothing and pleaded with his little brother to bring him a blanket and a pillow. Then he layed down and said. "Bring on the food!".

    so like his mother.

gosh they are on the phone, I almost got to finish this.

    $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ $$

    trying again...see...I like money!

oh shoot, now that I edited this, I can't read the loop.

what a dope. what is it that they say? the road to he%% paved with good intentions.

    sheesh...
