Working out a lot, struggling with diet

  • Hey All!
I'm new-ish here, I had an account two years ago but I forgot the username.

I have gained 30 pounds in the last year and a half of teaching, and I was already at my all time highest weight when I started gaining. Now I'm in the 190's and I never weighed more than 178 until a few months ago. Scary! Need to get this weight gain under control.

    What I'm Doing
Working out 4-5 days a week for 45 min of cardio, plus stretching and weights
******** shakes for meal replacement of 2 meals a day (I'm not part of the program, just like the shakes and buy them from amazon)
Starting Couch to 10k as part of my cardio (week 2 right now)
General "Eating better" and breaking bad food habits but no solid plan for diet

    Why I'm Doing It
Health and Mental Wellbeing / Stress Management
    I'm Getting Married in July
My fiancé and I are opening a bike shop, and it's important to convey a healthy, fit image as shop owners
I was a fat kid, healthy teen & early twenty-something, and now I feel like a fat kid again. I want to leave this reminder of a painful childhood behind and be the healthy, happy adult I always wanted to be!

    Starting weight: 193.8
    Last weigh-in: 190.3
    Goal weight: 143.8

3.5 pounds down 46.2 to go!

Looking forward to getting to know some of you here!
  • Welcome DesignBikeTeach! Congrats on you engagement!

I'm also new, and starting a business as well. I think that it's so great that you're involved in something fitness-related for your job, you're on a course for a healthy lifestyle!

  • Thanks for the warm welcome! I've been having trouble logging in here, but hope to be more consistent as it becomes a habit! What kind of business are you starting, designchick88?
  • Hello!

I'm new here as well and am having the same problem. I work out 5-6 days a week but my diet could use some help. It's tough but I know we can do it!
