  • Sorry if this has already been asked but are all walden farm products IP friendly? I see they are used in quite a few recipes and am just preparing for my start of IP and thought I might get a few ahead of time..I also understand some are questionable tasting.. so but just get a few to try.. thanks J
  • As far as I know, all Walden Farms products are phase 1 compatible if you stick to the appropriate serving sizes. That being said, it is a good idea to always get in the habit of checking the labels. There are a lot of threads on here that discuss what products people like better than others, if you are looking for some recommendations. Good luck!
  • thanks Alison, I have seen the threads and have been checking them out I just wasn't sure they were all IP compatible J

  • Don't get too many WF products until you try them. I ordered a bunch of them and couldn't eat any of them, threw out full bottles and jars, they taste like chemicals to me. I stick with EVOO and lemon juice or vinegar for salads. The Torani flavored sugar free syrups aren't too bad at all. Good Luck.
  • the WF products are really a matter of personal taste. Some ppl love them....others not so much.

I agree with bellamack, go easy on ordering too many at once....

Actually some are not 0/0/0...they are labeled sugar free...but I think have 5-10 cal per serving. ( I never asked for clarification...) Just only bought the ones that stated no cals, carbs or sugar...and double CK the label to be sure it is not one of the ones labeled sugar free...
  • Most of WF products will have 0/0/0...and I "tweak" mine so they taste better... I mixed mayo and ketchup together, warm up the apple butter before using it with a splash of lemon, add vinegar to the dressings..... It takes time to get used to it...but can be flavorful when creative...

Good luck on the IP !
  • Thanks everyone, what is EVVO?

EVOO = Extra Virgin Olive Oil. (An abbreviation perhaps made most famous by Rachel Ray!)

I've seen those too and was just looking for a label online but couldn't find one.

Remember that calories aren't one of the zeros

    0/0/0= sugar/carbs/fat

So sugar free with calories is fine.
Sugar free with fat or carbs isn't.
  • Here is a link to one of the WF's dressings that is NOT appropriate for P1:

    http://www.amazon.com/Walden-Farms-T...e+walden+farms

There are 4 flavors of sugar-free dressings.

All the other dressings, syrups, dips, etc. are fine for P1.
  • I was looking for a label, which I didn't see inthe amazon link
Here is a link with a label that sows the fat content of the ones marked "sugar free"

To be clear, my comment was to point out that 0/0/0 does not include calories, only carbs/sugar/fat

  • Yep..those calories have to come from somewhere...I mistakenly bought one that had fat in it early on...and recognized the "No Sugar" thingy meant I needed to dig (read) deeper...
    Live and learn...And I did!
  • The Alfredo sauce is terrible! It's sweet and no amount of hot sauce or spices would cut the flavor! The BBQ sauces and the dressings are ok
  • I was lucky enough to have my clinic give me a sample of most of them when I started and thank goodness because other than the asian and italian they are all too sweet for me
There are some really good recipies for dressings floating around here - most of which will count towards your daily fat- good way to get your fat in if u are struggling with it
