Thin4Life - Week of June 9, 2003

  • Good morning everyone!

Lala, Domina: Hope you had a good weekend!

Susan: Hope you had a nice weekend with DH! What a nice surprise to have him home a little earlier than you had planned.

I did pretty well in the eating department this weekend--although I have to admit I forgot to bring my journal home from work over the weekend. I didn't have a whole lot of time to eat and I still don't feel all that great. I'm hoping the allergy season is almost over!

I've got a busy week ahead--tomorrow is DS #1's graduation, Wednesday another follow up with DS #2's eye doctor, and then I leave for Chicago on Friday afternoon. The next 5 weekends have something going on between traveling for bowling tournaments and ending with the 4th of July. I'm hoping to get this extra weight off by the 4th. As long as I put my mind to it I'll be fine

    Hope everyone is doing well!
  • Hi Melissa.

DH arrived home safe and sound yesterday morning. It's nice to have company again - especially his We spent a quiet day - even put a fire on to get some of the dampness out of the air. Hard to tell it's June; maybe summer won't make an appearance this year.

My eating over the weekend was so-so, not exactly within points but not out of control either. In the end, I chickened out of weigh-in. I just couldn't face the scales, especially since TOM put in an appearance and I was bloated on top of everything else. Maybe this coming weekend will be better.

This week will be quiet. Looking to get 3-4 runs in and a walk on alternate days. Exercise and water will be the focus, along with points, of course.

lala, Domina - are you out there?
  • Hi, Susan and Melissa

I just returned from San Francisco. I was there for training. It was fun to visit there, but I couldn't live there. It's very expensive. It is a great walking city, so I walked all over the place. My last night there I walked about 6 miles! I think I ate a little more, but the exercise balanced it out.

A good thing--while I was gone DH repaired some things and started painting inside the garage!!

This week I have some rehearsals; I'm playing the piano for a show. I also have a professional meeting on Wednesday where I will give up my Vice Presidency. That will be good--it was a big commitment. They all make me feel guilty though because folks don't volunteer for officer positions.

It's funny to hear you discuss graduation--here the grads were done a month ago.

    Talk to you later.
  • Hi Everyone,

I'm back for about 1.5 hours and gone again.

Susan, I drove through Dartmouth twice and waved! I loved my sunny day in Halifax (plane cancelled to SPM and got to spend the day goofing around Halifax) and on Sunday, went to Lunenburg and did the coast road back.

Glad to hear the DH is back .

Domina- Glad you enjoyed SF. It is expensive. We have a house there and the reason we don't sell is that we'd never be able to get back into that market again. Great hills huh?

Melissa- Have fun at graduation. As for Chicago, I'm dying to go there.

I'm ready to start on a new challenge ladies. I'll be back on Thursday and starting with the clean living again. It was darned near impossible in SPM. It was all about buildings, cod drying areas, wine, pain au chocolat, cream sauce, wine, joists, wine, etc...

    did i mention wine?

    more later,

    lala
  • Hi everyone--had my WI last night, gained 1/2 pound, not too bad especially as I was in SF last week.

Lala, I went to a great restaurant called Anzu--very nice and great food. It's, believe it or not, in a hotel--Hotel Nikko. Yes, the hills were something as we don't have many of those in Florida. Yes, you did mention wine and mmmm pain au chocolat.

Tonight I'm headed to a professional meeting (last of the year) and I will turn in my VPship (yea!) Later this week, I'm accompanist for a murder mystery/comedy. That should be fun.

  • Hi everyone!

I survived graduation--I'll admit that I shed a few tears but all in all the ceremony was good and I was so proud of my son.

I went for my WI at noon today and am ecstatic! I lose 3.4# and am back in the 130's! I'm going to keep focusing so that I can get my cushion back and have another great WI next week.

I went to the dr yesterday and have a sinus infection so I need to get started on my antiobiotics (didn't have time to get to the drugstore before graduation) this evening. They usually kick in pretty quickly for me.

Domina: You did well considering you were out of town. I usually have a hard time with eating out. I have a plan while I'm in Chicago--I'm taking my own snacks and I'm going to get some walking in.

Lala: We'll be waiting for you for the challenge!

Susan: What will you focus on this week? I'm going to continue working on checking off my little boxes in my journal and I've cut way back on my night time snacking (hmmm, could there be a correlation to cutting back and my weight loss??).

It's raining here today and humid. It seems we have a pattern of one nice day followed by a day of rain...some day we'll have a string of nice days.

    Have a great day everyone!
