Losing points is killing me :)!

  • So I have lost 7 lbs in 3 weeks and I have lost 2 points in that time too, that seems FAST!!!! So now I have 33...
  • I hear ya! I restarted in January at 180lbs with 28 points. I am now on the lowest you can have per day, 26!

I'm kinda wondering how the heck I'm gonna keep losing from 166 to 135 if my points are not going to lower anymore (grateful for that but ya know??)

I started at 26... and I've been wondering the same thing... I have been eating all my WP's and a lot of AP's... Plus a lot of zero pt fruits and veggies...

Here's what I've been thinking of doing if I really start to stall... I'm gonna try not to eat back my AP's... Then I'm going to try to eat less of my WP's... And if after all of that I'm still stalling... I guess I'll have to take a look at the calories in the "zero" pt fruits & veggies... to see if that's where I might need to cut back on to get the deficit I need to get to goal...

I'm being realistic about the whole thing though... and not expecting more than a half pound loss a week (and I'm sure there are going to be weeks with no loss) so it might take a while... But so far the way my pts are averaging out I really think I should be able to get to goal and still be able to eat between 1200 to 1400 calories a day... So even though I know it might take a bit longer than I like... I really think it does seem "doable"...
  • I'm at 35 now and I'm reaching a point where I am eating more of my WP because if I work out at all, I am STARVING. I am really mourning my loss of daily points lately.
  • It is harder at first, but you'll get used to it!
I keep my breakfast pretty consistent points wise (I may use egg beaters instead of eggs when I am lower in points); I lower my lunch a tad and I keep my dinner the same. The challenge I place myself with is finding low point snacks. I don't like eating anything more than 3 PP for a snack. It sounds limiting, but there are a ton of things out there!

My friend did it! She's 5'3 or 5'4 and went from 225 to 130. She only used her daily points and didn't touch her WP or AP except on special occasions. So for a long time she only ate 26 points/day. She did run 5x a week too though.
  • Movielover- I just did the math on mine and it was in 8lbs (180 to 166) that I lost 2 points (28 to 26) so pretty close to your 7lbs. Though I didn't realize that I had gone down 2 pts (I forgot you do, lol) because my phone app had a glitch where it didn't lower points even with me entering my losses/current weights. Luckily for me, there was an update for the app and required me to re-enter all my info, all of a sudden, I was at 26 now, whaaa?? Then I had a mini-freakout realizing that since 172 (that's when I went down to 26 points), I overate by 2pts daily along with weeklies. Haha, I am getting used to it now though.

Let's be grateful for the WP and APs!
  • Those 2 points are half a cookie ha ha ha!!!
  • I just tell myself "You are so much smaller now, of course you don't need that extra point anymore" It seems dumb when I type it right now, but it works and I end up smiling about how "small" I am LOL!
  • I know it is hard to lose points. For a while I had a hard time each time my points decreased but then I got really good at pre planning, and that made it alot easier. The night before I plan my points for the day. I write them icon our chalk board so I can see them. I just put the numbers eg. B-5, l-6, d-8, and then I also do my health check numbers and snacks. It really helps me see that I can eat with in my 26 Pts. (but I'm really looking forward to oing on maintenance and having 32 Pts)
  • I'm devastated whenever I lose points, too. My inner fatty girl cries out.

Hey, you're my twin!! That's what I've been thinking too.... It's really hard for me to stick to 26 points though. My friend who is now 144 lb (26 points) says she eats her AP every single day because she said there is no way she could survive on 26 points. Made me feel better to hear that.
  • Well really, I have been doing this for 3 weeks...

    1st week-35 points
    2nd week-34 points
    4rd week-33 points

CRAZY! I suppose it just means I am losing weight !
  • On Fitbit, I subscribe to premium so can do benchmark and compare myself to people in my same age range. I can compare to everyone or to normal weight or overweight or obese.

At first I was really surprised. Comparing myself to obese women in my age range my very active minutes per day average are at the 98th percentile and my steps per day are at the 88th percentile which made me feel good. Then I compared myself for calories burned per day. I was shocked that my calories burned per day was at the 29th percentile. I couldn't quite put that together. But then I realized that I am short and I'm at the lower end of the obese range for BMI. So most people my age who are obese burn more calories than me.

The more weight you have on you - whether due to your height or your obesity - the more calories it takes to move your body around. So, the fact you don't need as many calories to move your body around is a good thing.

Of course, yeah, as you get close to goal weight for most of us, it is harder to lose weight and weight loss for most people slows. But, it does happen.

Back in the day (when I was 20 years younger) my goal weight was 125 and I actually got all the way down to 118. I didn't stay at either one very long (hence my current goal weight at the top of my range) but it was possible. What was necessary was that I was younger then and had a better metabolism and I exercised regularly ....and I was very careful with my eating....
