Getting all hyped up about seeing the second movie in the Matrix trilogy I sat down and re-watched the first movie. Once again I was struck by the powerful underlying themes of faith, how does one measure reality and priorities, and the power of love. Plus the action kicks booty.

Well you get all the action in Matrix: Reloaded. The fight with all the Agents Smiths kicked butt. But there was this really gratuitous party/sex scene which was so unneccesary. The story line lacked the depth and grace of the original and basically seemed to steal from the first movie. Spirituality? Your Gods can be another form of control (The socialist Marx (sp?) thought the same thing).

I will see the next movie. But overall the story line let me down, yet the action kept me entertained. The car chase was pretty intense. So everybody's husband should love it!

Chris did you stay and watch the teaser after the credits? they have about a 3 minute teaser to the part 3.... was pretty good. I was just let down a little about how it ended... just too abrupt personally and it was a little slow. The Dance scene reminded me of something off of soul train no offense to anyone it just was a lil bizarre. I really like some of the action scenes...

but over all it was a let down.... We saw it twice, once by choice once out of commitment to a friend to see it with them. Wasn't any better the second time.

I so wanted to love this movie, but it just didn't happen. Too much psychobabble gobbledygook dialogue that made little sense to most people in the crowd. And what I could glean from it just wasn't very thought provoking or enlightening and really didn't answer "the questions" in an interesting or meaningful way... its like they were trying too hard to be philisophical and mysteriously wise. When the action stopped, the movie just didn't work. In Matrix, everything flowed together seamlessly and the story was completely engaging. Reloaded just was not able to connect with the audience like the first one. I felt completely detached from the movie the entire time, unlike Matrix where I was engrossed and on the edge of my seat. Plus the love stuff was a little over the top. The audience actually groaned/laughed at some moments that should have been emotional and serious. There are some amazing fight sequences and special effects. One of the highway crashes is perhaps the best special effect I have ever seen in a movie. Amazing. Its definitely worth seeing if you are a Matrix fan, but don't expect it to be better than the first. And yes, the end just came suddently and there was no build up or anticipation... just like they had to pick a convenient spot to end it. Its rare that you see a sequal better than the original... this just didn't do it.

I saw the Matrix2-Reloaded. I enjoyed it but I thought the tribal dance party went on too long-it felt like being at a rave vicariously I thought Morpheous's speech in the cave at Zion was a bit uninspired but the rest of it was pretty good. Wicked action scenes!! I personally find the love story between Trinity and Neo boring- they lack chemistry and I don't find them to be believable as a couple- the love scene went on too long for me.

We stayed for the trailer after the credits- Revolutions looks like it will be good

I am looking forward to seeing The Next 28 Days (Zombie film), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (starring Sean Connery), Underworld, T-3, and of course the third installment of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Phew! I better keep saving my airmiles so I can trade them in for movie tickets

Mauvais ~ The manager at our theater(16 screen in a pretty big town) knows my husband and I like we were best friends. He says I look like Helen Hunt... and is always flirting but I swear we should own stock in Carmike Theaters....

I am looking forward to many many movies coming out. LXG, 2Fast2Furious, Finding Nemo, T3, Return of the King, Pirates of the Caribean....

Saw the previews for the ultimate... Jason VS Freddie... OMG when will they finally kill those two off for good?

Pirates looks like it is going to have some awesome special effects and it has my sexy man in it (Orlando Bloom) and Johnny Depp isn't hard on the eyes either.

Think I will go watch LOTR for a while before crashing.

Watched Red Dragon. Very cool. Reminded me a lot of Silence of the Lambs. MUCH better then Hannibal.

watching dogs eat eachother would have been better than watching Hannibal. That movie was genuinely bad.

There certianly are a lot of "boy" movies coming out lately. Not that I mind, but... T3, Jason V. Freddy... these are movies that my husband is going to make me go see! And there is nothing out that looks any good that I want to watch that can reciprocate the pain! I mean... "Down with Love?" c'mon...

Though I did see a lovely movie - unrated - that had Ewan McGreagor in it. ALL of him.

Can't wait for finding Nemo. It's sad when two grown adults without children watch as many cartoons as we do. heh. oh well.

Any suggestions on a good chick movie I can drag hubby to without wanting to retch while watching it?

Lizziness, before my DH and I had kids we watched animated films all the time. Now that we HAVE kids, we are completely BORED with them (the movies, not the kids)!
Although "Waking Life" was EXCELLENT! And not for children anyhow.

Finding Nemo is going to rock.... We have kids but I tell you... Lilo and Stitch, The Emperor's New Groove, Shrek... really those movies are not really "kids" movies they are just animated. I am sure if I really thought about it I could find some more but my head hurts this AM.


Heck I came home the other day and Lilo an Stitch was in the DVD player... lets just say the kids weren't home.

Shrek was good. I love that what's her name didn't get "beautiful" at the end.

Most of the time I'd rather watch a "guy" movie than a "chick flick". Give me Terminator over a movie starring Meg Ryan anyday.

a good chick movie is hard to find. last good one i watched was Bridget Jones' Diary. That's been a while. Seems to me that media thinks women are stupid and want to see other stupid women with predicaments worse than our own. We are, after all, Lucy - and are getting ourselves into predicaments ALL the time! I suppose if Ricky would just let us go to work... no wait... back to the subject at hand... *L*
I saw "Sweet home alabama" and "Legally Blonde" because Reese Witherspoon did like 2 movies I liked, so I thoughts I'd give it a try. Talk about PAIN!

Sometimes I just have to watch a movie like that to piss off hubby.

He made me go see the Matrix: Reload this weekend. And I enjoyed it. It has these great underlying themes that are in a lot of things I've been reading and watching lately. There were a few excessive scenes, though and I felt it to be way hyped up. Overall I enjoyed it. Then again... we snuck in booze into the theater! *LOL*
