New here

  • Hi there,
I just found you guys, hiding right in the open on the internet, and thought I would see if this is where I belong on my journey.
A little about me, I'm a mom of 4 (ages 8-14). I'm currently not working as I had a hysterectomy. Although I haven't put on any weight (I don't think) since the surgery, i know I've put on a few inches, and am now out of pants. I have noticed my weigh creeping upwards for the last several years. In my early 20's I didn't really have to consciously exercise, I was busy with kids and always moving (and I think my metabolism recently died). Now I feel like a total beginner, not really knowing where to start to get my weight back down, and get healthy again.
Hoping to make some friends here, and get/stay motivated.
  • Welcome, NiagaraGrl! I posted on your other thread regarding exercise and that is a great step but do be sure to take it easy even if you feel okay right now. Just remember to take it one day/step at a time as not to overwhelm yourself.

Do you have a plan in terms of your "diet"/way of eating? Because no matter how much you exercise, it all comes down to your calories in and calories out.

    Again, welcome!
  • Not really a plan I guess. Increase fruit intake, start eating breakfast, decrease portion at dinnertime (I started using a small plate at dinner). Drink more water.
  • Sounds great!! Just gotta do what works for you, right? Wish you the best of luck.
  • Welcome and good luck on your journey!!!
