  • Totally awesome nsv shopping at the outlets with my husband this afternoon.

Didn't recognize myself in the reflection of a storefront ahead of us. There was a thinner lady walking with my husband! Totally freaked me out!!

Then I got over the freaking out and walked by again to see myself!

The shopping trip began with me getting into my husband's truck with him saying "Looking good!", its been a good day.
  • Woohoo!!!!!
  • Yaaayyyyy!!

I'm sure you could get used to that happening
  • Sorry but I cracked up at your freaking out at the reflection but yahoooo for having a great day and an awesome NSV!
  • Awww.. That's awesome. Good for you!!
  • That is hilarious. And adorable!
  • Thanks ladies!! I created the post from my phone so I couldn't type as much as I usually do.

It was so surreal, I knew you'd all understand better than anyone. It was like watching my husband walk towards me with another person that I didn't recognize (and why was SHE holding his hand??!?!). And then when I realized it was me, it was just a huge relief. I mean, I have so far to go still but I am like 2/3rds of the way there and I finally saw some progress today. I don't know if it's because we had warm enough weather to not wear coats or what (and yesterday at this time we had high winds and a foot of snow coming down!).

And...I never look at my reflection in windows or otherwise as I don't want to see myself. I have no idea why I even looked at "that lady" in the window, it must have been a sign from above to show my progress.
  • aside from the fact that I am mad at you for putting that earworm in my head, that's a great story Elvis. Congrats!!!
  • Sweet!
  • Elvis that is soooo cool!

You started about where I did and are about the same height as me so it's extra inspiring!
  • Thanks ladies!!! And LOL @ April Snow!! That song was in my head too!
  • I love this so hard!

Its a wild experience to searching for a mirror/reflection to check yourself out, when you've spent so long avoiding them.

So exciting, so happy for you!
  • AWESOME!
I just LOVE that. What a wonderful thing to happen. YAY.
  • Yayy!!!!! What an awesome NSV!
