  • Good morning everyone and welcome and good evening to Chezza way down in Australia.

We are all up and going this morning. I have lost my lovely relaxing quiet time with the dogs and coffee! The car has to go to the dealer on a recall for 7 and Harry goes to have another darn lump removed after that. Right now he is grumpy and lumpy because he's up so early.

Adrienne, the purple dress is for The Red Hat Society, a fun group that has just formed a chapter in this area. www.redhatsociety.com We are going to dinner at the Casino on the 15th so I am in a paniv to get a dress done. It is too late to order from a catalogue so..... and yes, Dottie, I can make Roman Shades. Her, I made a metal bra! Nothing is impossible!

Gotta hit the shower before Harry. I prefer baths because you can't drink coffee very well in the shower.

    Bye for now.
  • Morning early bird Ruth!

Today is my day to go in late to work - I go in late and leave early!

Hitting the gym this morning, preschool open house tonite, mothers day tea with the kindergartners tommorrow, had a Patriotic singing program last night at church with the childrens choirs....last soccer game Saturday - can't wait til Memorial day, school will be out and all this will be over!!!

    Have a great day everyone~
  • Just wanted to say hi to my low-carb friends..........been hanging out in the wls section. But you guys are my "first love" so Im always thinking about you.

Life is GOOD for me, stop in and say hey in the wls section sometime.

Ruth I have wondered what the red hat society was.......thanks for the link.

    Have a good one all!
  • Good morning chickies,

Had a great evening last night. The boys and I went to see "Holes" with my boys. It was a great movie. It was a bit slow to begin with but had a super happy ending. I sat in the theatre with a boy on each side, it was so wonderful. My boys are so precious.

Well, I am at work and hating it, but I will survive.

Thank you for all the hugs, hug therapy is the best.

    have a great day.
  • Oh, Ruth! That sounds so FUN!!!! I love it! What a fantastic concept!

Well, I'm up and I've got the kids off to daycare. I've got to be in court from 9-11am and then its:

To the portrait studio to pick up pictures I had done as gifts for mother's day... then to the card shop for mother's day cards (from me, hubby, kids to inlaw, mom, grandparents...) Then I have to run out to the airport to book some upcoming flights (I have vouchers from a bump so I have to physically GO there) then to Target to buy frames for the pics... THEN to the post office to MAIL the gifts, then to Sam's club for diapers (I only have three left in the house!!!) and finally to the grocery store to get low-carb yummies for dinner! PHEW!!!!!

Scooby - sounds busy! I suppose this is more of what I have to look forward to? haha!

Well, I'm off. Welcome Chezza! I assume you're sleeping right now, eh?
  • Hello everyone!

Deb, good to see you hon!

Ruth, hope you remember to take care ofyourself today, OK?

Rachel, kids always have us running in circles, right?

Just quick this morning, hae to get my butt in gear and inot the shower. Drop-in this morning, lunch with a friend and her kids, and swimming lessons this afternoon. Dh comes home tomorrow and the house looks horrendous! Spent the afternoon in the garden yesterday afternoon and put down the weed blocking material and planted my cukes and sweet basil. Looked at the long term forecast and not a whiff of frost in sight!

    Have a fine day everyone!

Well jenny and adrienne, you snuck in one me!
  • Morning Chickies!!
    Wow--everyone is sooo busy today!
(((((HUGS))))) to Ruth and Harry-I pray this is the last "lumP" that needs to be removed.
    Debkay--Miss you!
amhlawyer-you make my head spin what would you do on a rest day?

Well, last night was a softball game--I love it--we won 16-13-it was a nail biter as our girls just could not seem to keep it together-Alyssa did get 5 hits though-that is one area the other girls were struggling in. Halfway through the game I was around the corner looking for Tori-she was playing with a friend-and there she was knee hi in a muddy watery trench wading thru-laughing her skinny little butt off- she was a filthy wet mess-worse than Alyssa who was actually playing ball on a muddly field.

Tonight is dress rehearsal for the dance recital..which is tomorrow night. We have to be at the auditorium at 4:40 that is when Tori dances then Alyssa is in 4 dances, including the the very last one-so we won't be home until like 9:30 or 10--what fun!

Well, I had my boiled egg for breakfast-hopefully I will do better today and not sucomb to chocolate ice cream and potato chips like yesterday--and bread-oh the bread I ate!

    Have a great day all!
    Miss D
  • Good Morning Ladies
    Good Morning Everyone

Wishing, I used to take it one block at a time, being 300+lbs, its very hard to walk, especially with (then husband) mocking every effort I made to loose weight. So gf, take it one block at a time, when your feeling pretty good, add another block or few steps, what ever you can manage. Eventually you'll be a walking fool

amhlawyer, hubby and I run a little shop in buffalo, my gift shop is in the front half of the store, sort of a northern/adirondack flair. Its not a frilly fluffy girly store lol Hubby runs his business in the back half of the store, which is signmaking. He just made me a new sandwich board sign for the front sidewalk, it looks great can you tell Im proud of him??

Well, Im in that place. You know that place where your on a diet and there is NOOOOO stopping you? Well, Im there! It feels good, and Im going to take advantage of it for as long as it sticks around Only 36 more lbs to go......thats it!! only 36!!

This lowcarbing gives me so much energy that I have trouble sleeping or staying asleep, so yesterday, I filled my day!!! Started at 6am, and cooked and baked til it was time to go to work. Did my 55 min walk in the afternoon, and then after supper hit the park and walked it 2x and according to hubby thats 3.6 miles. Then I hit the walmart and spent too much money, but bought a lovely red t-shirt that fit kinda sexy snug (know what I mean?) Looks like it would do the trick with hubby After all that, I came home, had a very hot shower, read in bed and fell asleep and stayed asleep until the alarm went off....first time Ive done that in about 2 weeks

I hope everyone has a great day, time to go eat some breaky

  • Yesterday I didn't even get online. I got home from my morning swim and my friend phoned and asked if I'd drive her to the doctor. The day before her son's big dog had sideswiped her and she'd fallen hard. I wanted to take her to the doctor that day but she put it off. Yesterday she was having so much pain she agreed to go. We spent over an hour at the doc's office, then I wheeled her over to the nearby hospital for x-rays, then a quick lunch in the hosp. cafeteria and then back to wait at the doc's office for x-ray results. Of course, radiology lost her results. Sent them to Emergency instead of to her doctor's office. I didn't get home until after 4 pm, more tired than if I'd run a marathon.
This morning I spent a couple of hours slaving in my garden. After weeding each area, I'd rake it and sprinkle in some annual flower seeds. Hopeful that the seeds will germinate before the new crop of weeds takes hold.
This evening I have to go to a reception being held by one of the groups of my women's organization. Darn. I wanted to watch Game 7 of the Canucks/Wild hockey play-off series but the way the Canucks have been playing, perhaps I'll be sparing myself some anxiety. TOnight they either win and go on or they're out for good. I get so mad when they don't play the way I know they can.
Anyhow, that's my day. I'm off to watch Y&R and then I'll have to start getting ready to go out.
I was SO op and then I got into some frozen carrot cake (how did I sniff that out?) and ruined everything, so back to square one again. GAAAHHHH! Why do I DO that???
  • Hi everyone. Linda, don't feel bad about the carrot cake, except why didn't you send me some?? That Milky Way bar I just ate didn't hit the spot.

Hope all are having a wonderful day, I am roasting alive in this house. Must call repairman tomorrow, 94 degrees by Saturday. Youch!!!!!! Hope to talk to you soon!
  • Linda, I will trade you my corn muffin for some carrot cake... Oh that's right, I ate the corn muffin already! And the little cookies at the nurses appreciation lunch. (I am not a nurse, I host the lunch!)

Hurray! We got our mortgage approval today! We have to give a few more pieces of paperwork, and then done! We'll close in early June. Wow, that was almost easy!

Hi to all to come- I am trying to post more, but next week will be better, DH will be working a couple of evenings, and I'll have some time home on my own! Hate to sayit, but I'm looking forward to it!

    be good chickens,
    dottie
  • Hey! Dottie! who you calling chicken?

amhlawyer! I don't know how you and Jenny and the other girls who work and have kids do it. I can hardly keep up with my two and all that needs to be done around here....I don't even get half done of what should be done.

Hey Jenny....Our man Derek will be making a comeback on tuesday. He is playing double a ball down in trenton and turning the town upside down.

I have been posting more and my eating has been a bit (stress bit) better. They seem to go together.

hope you all have a good night!

  • just sayin hi :-) its friday morning here in aussie and pretty cold brrrrrrrrr, well cold for here anyway. My 3 kids (teen girls) are gettin ready for school and its funny how they can never find anything, i think some mysterious person must come into the house at night and move all their stuff cuz they swear its not where they left it last night, and strange how they think that mum magically knows where everything is in the house lol. Gotta love em huh lol
