It CAN be done!!!!

  • Hi everyone!

Hope no one minds me posting this thread! I joined 3FC a couple of years ago and visited this sub-forum often.

For a little background I went to the doctor's in February of 2010 for an issue unrelated to my weight and weighed in at 344 pounds. It was one of those non-digital scales so the nurse had to keep adjusting it up and up. It was humiliating.

Over the next 2 plus years I focused on eating right and exercising. I went from barely able to do a 10 minute Zumba DVD to running 13 miles. I didn't use a fad diet. ****, I didn't even count calories until I got under 200 pounds.

It hasn't always been easy, but I've found that persistence pays off.

I hit maintenance in July of this year and am still figuring it all out.

But with the new year coming I just wanted to check in and let everyone here know that IT CAN BE DONE - YOU CAN DO THIS! There is nothing special about me. I didn't have a personal trainer or chef, I just kept fighting the good fight and I now hover in the 115-119 range.

Trust me - I know what it feels like to weigh over 300 pounds and feel that it is not possible to hit goal, but I am living proof. Good luck to everyone!

    Jen
  • Awesome post, started here today on my most recent weightloss journey on the 26th. I wish you all the best in maintenance and while I find it hard to believe that it's possible, I know it is. Here.I.Go!
  • Thank you Cherrypie, you are just what I needed to read about this morning. Your weightloss is amazing and so inspirational. You must feel so amazing, physically and mentally. And I can't believe you did it all on your own!! So awesome!

A lot of people will be joining 3fc this weekend I am sure with New Year's resolutions and hope for 2013, your experience will be an awesome one for them to read about!
  • I agree with Jen 100% , it can be done ! I think the most important word in her post is Persistance. Keep on keeping on and you will see results.

  • Congrats! WOW! All the way down under 120 lbs!!! That seems sooooo distant (well for me, that would be a little underweight, but to be a healthy weight...)
  • Just want to say Congrats! I am at the 344 mark right now and I know I can do it! You inspire many!!
