I'm Back!!! :)

  • So after hiding from my weight problems for over three years, I am back and more determined than ever to reach my goal weight. My weight has fluctuated so much the last couple of years and I am so sick of it! I am ready to be a healthy weight and be happy in my body for the rest of my life!

College was terrible for me and I gained a crap load of weight and I was almost 190 lbs (yikes!). This was in 2004/2005 when I had reached my highest weight ever. Determined to lose weight, I ate nothing, worked my *** off, and dropped my weight down into the 150s. I basically did everything the wrong way and quickly rebounded back to my old ways. From 2007 to 2011, my weight fluctuated anywhere between 165 to 178 lbs. I was unhappy and was disgusted with myself.

In the spring of this year, I developed a new love for road biking and purchased a beautiful Felt road bike. At the beginning of this year, I weighed about 178 lbs. After biking 20-30 miles about 2-3x per week, I was able to drop my weight down to 153 lbs by August.

Currently, I am feeling myself lose control again. I am not watching what I eat and have become less active with the cold months (I live in Illinois). I saw pictures of myself from my sister's baby shower and was disgusted to see my muffin top! So that is what brings me here. I need some motivation and advice from all of you. I am excited and super nervous about this weight loss journey but I know I can do it!
  • Welcome back Christina! Best of luck to you
  • Welcome back, Christina!! I just bought a bike this spring as well; it was the first time I rode an actual bike (and not a stationary) in over 20 years. It was great, but I was real wobbly on it. I liked doing that and hiking, but now that the weather really isn't conducive for it (I'm in northern VA) I'm trying to make do with my Tread Climber and being in a gym. It's making it harder for me to stay motivated because who wants to be stuck on a machine for an hour every day?? But I'm hoping if I put up with this through the winter, I'll be in better shape to retackle that bike come spring. Good luck on your journey and I look forward to reading up on your progress!
  • I actually started a cycling class with the cold weather here and it's great!
