IP Boot Camp -- who's done it?

  • Hi all! It was recommended by her coach that my IP buddy (who isn't on 3fc) do a week of boot camp to get her losses going again. I offered to ask you great ladies and gentlemen some questions:

    Have you ever done IP boot camp (where you eat 5 packets a day , 2c of veggies as usual, and no whole protein)? Any advice for getting through the week - should she expect more hunger, etc? Is the same amount of exercise I've been doing since 3 weeks in (she's at a little over 3 months now) ok? Has anyone had any issues/pitfalls with the protocol? How effective was the protocol for you in terms of weight/fat loss?

  • Have done it. Was much hungrier the whole time and found little difference in loss, but much more dissatisfaction with the diet.

    It is not worth the effort. Seriously, if phase 1 takes a week or 2 longer does it matter?
  • I'm kind of interested in this as an alternative when I travel. If you have 5 packets a day, is it still only 1 packet of restricted?
  • I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to do that- but I have been considering the "cellulite reduction protocol" to get a woosh.

  • Instead of that course, my coach told me to have no restricted IP foods or restricted veggies for 2 weeks. I was eating a restricted food daily before. So we basically just switched my restricted to a non restricted, still 3 IP's a day.

    I'm just starting the second week, but I have doubled my weekly loss. I am a little dizzy earlier and hungrier around the time to eat, but I don't think I could do the boot camp you just described. This is hard enough on me. Maybe she could ask her coach about this option instead of going so drastic.
  • @Momto2cs -- did you do it to jump start weight loss or as one of your reboots in maintenance?

    @Allison -- I think it's still 1 restricted

    @Goalfor40 -- I've been thinking about doing the cellulite protocol when I get to goal and once I've phased off and let the weight settle. My understanding is that you still redistribute even into Phase 4, so I'm hoping that will redistribute the dimples away

    @Miami Cajun (love the name I grew up in New Orleans but live in Austin now) -- she's already been off restricteds for a week and the scale didn't really move, so this is idea #2. I think she's open to any other ideas!!! She has ~80 lbs left to lose!
  • I've limited myself to 1 restricted dinner and 1 restricted breakfast per week (rarely a restricted veggie and never have bought restricted snacks) hoping to be on the faster lose wagon. It must help in the 10's of a pound and not pounds per week in my case!!!
  • I did it during my original phase 1 stint in 2011. I vaguely remember only having 4 packets though.

    I think the normalcy of eating one meal a day is important.

    I saw your results from the cellulite resuction, but didn't notice that weight loss was at the top of your list of reasons to do it (probably cause you were already at goal). My friend is looking for more of a jump start from a 3 week plateau. She has ~80 lbs less to lose
