Hello all. :)

  • Hi, everyone.

I have been contemplating joining for a while now as i come to this site for motivation quite often. (Its great)

I've been trying to lose weight for most of my life. I'm 23 now, but started trying to lose weight around 11, even going so far as to try diet pills or just not eating, though nothing seemed to work.(or it did, but i would gain it all back) Looking back on it now i wish i had just started eating right and exercising more...that seems to do the trick. :P

As of today i weigh 275,down from 302, and hope with the help of this wonderful and inspiring site i can reach my goal.

    Hope to post more soon.

    Vincent.

    Hi Vincent:

I am new here, too. You are just a bit younger than my daughter, so I hope that I will be able to "forewarn" you as I've been forewarning her. Just the other day I was telling her to take care of herself NOW so she won't be in her 50s (like me) and wish that she had taken care of herself several years before.

Looking forward to sharing support with you. It's good to "meet" you.

  • Hello and welcome to both of you!!

Vincentius, good for you for working on this while you are younger. Believe me, it gets harder when you get older, plus it is great that you will feel so much better and be able to do more.

I agree with you that eating right and exercising more is the key; for me too that is the best way to do it.

I was especially interested in your post as I too am tall, and started out at almost the same weight you did. And it was just in middle of October that I was at 275, but now here I am at 257 and still heading down. You can do it, too! This forum is a great place to come for support. In fact I am here now at 2 AM because I woke up and this is a great alternative to raiding the kitchen LOL

If only i had a time machine. heh

Its nice to "meet" you too.

That is sound advice, thank you. I think when you are young you don't realize how much more difficult things get when you age. Or you think "I have plenty of time to worry about that later"

This so much. I would love to be able to run, hike ,bike ,swim ect without running out of breath so fast or something hurting. :P

    Congratulations on your success!

Thanks for the support you two.
