Intro and mass questions

  • Hi all,
    I am new to this board so I will give you a little intro…. I have been married for almost 12 years and have 4 kids that I home school. I also have 5 kids that I provide daycare for in my home. I have done Atkins ( although I have yet to stick it out. ) So I am familiar with low-carb eating. Next month my Dh and I will begin trying for baby # 5 and so I know that I cannot be in ketosis, so one of your nice friends here (Nardia aka bigorangebabe ) recommended this site. I have about a thousand and one questions……..

    I have read the book and see the 14 day menu plan. I wonder if I do follow that plan approximately and start losing weight, what happens when I conceive? Do I continue to lose or will my body automatically make adjustments or will I have to up calories or what????

    Can I continue to safely lose inches and fat while pregnant as long as I am eating well and exercising?

    Do I need supplements ( aside from prenatal )?

    Somewhere I saw a list of specific grocery brands that we good to get , but I cant seem to find it. Does anyone know where I might find it?

  • Welcome Becca! I am fairly new to this woe (way of eating) too. I have not been super successful yet, but others sure are and I feel good eating this way. I have done Atkins too. You will not lose as fast on this woe, but you also will not gain as fast as you do when you can't stand Atkins anymore. This is sooo much easier! Well just wanted to say HI.
