Good Monday morning everyone. How was the weekend?

It's pouring rain here today, much the same as yesterday. There are only a few die-hard patches of snow remaining.

We actually got to do a bit of work in the garden on the weekend. There was still a significant amount of snow on the ground Saturday morning, but we managed to rake a good amount out of the front and side gardens. Now that the rest has disappeared, we may get the grounds in half-decent shape before we leave.

Got some amazing news on Saturday morning. My family won second prize in a lottery - $50,000!!!! Twelve of us were in on the ticket, so we'll each rake in a little over $4100. Not bad news for someone about to leave on vacation. But I was more excited for some of my siblings who can really use the money.

Congratulations on the win and just in time for vacation!!

It was 83 degrees here on Saturday and this morning it was 40 degrees. The weather here is really crazy. I've lived here for 17 years and I don't remember cold temperatures in March/April.

I also got to work in the yard on Saturday--it's starting to shape up.

I have lots of rehearsals and meetings this week. The Haydn concert is on Sunday.

Susan- Congrats to you and your family! I hope you enjoy your share! Too bad about the rain!
Domina- Who/what is Hadyn? You do a lot of work with your church, don't you?

It is quite warm here today- gotta get out for a stroll! Had a great weekend, although went a little over pts wise. Visited friends, and got dd's 6 month pix taken. It was SO fun and they are super cute!

I have a big decision to make- got asked to take over as Head receptionist at my meetibg. I'm not even finished training yet!!

Domina: Your weather sounds like our, lol. We hit up in the mid 70's on Friday and today we're struggling to break 35!

Saskie: Being the "head" receptionist isn't all that bad...you'd just have to decide if you want the responsibility.

I woke this morning to sunshine, only to be replaced by snow!

I had a rough day yesterday--anything that wasn't nailed down was fair game to eat...ugh! I know my points were way out of range and I felt miserable and did a pretty good job of beating myself up for it. This morning I started fresh and I'm hoping that it's not going to come back to haunt me later this week when I go for my weekly WI.

DH made it back from Richmond (rugby tourney) albeit with a limp. This morning he made a trip to the immediate care center to have his knee checked--to make a long story short he has a brace, crutches and an appointment to meet with an orthopedic on Wednesday morning. I'm not saying a word....

Does anyone here do the WATP tapes? I just purchased the cassettes to use while walking outdoors to add a little variety to my walking.

Domina- I was quite pleased to spend some time in the garden myself. Must now plant all the little dears I bought on Saturday!

Saskie- Glad to hear the weather has improved. Those baby pics are so cute. Good luck on the receptionist job.

Melissa- Yikes. Let's hope this is a small tear and nothing else. My mom bought the tapes and didn't use them. I think ask her for them next time I'm down there. I think they would be pretty good to try, especially in the event of bad weather.

Nothing interesting to report here. Got up super early with DP who left ungodly early for her first day of commuting to Oregon. I did get a bunch of stuff done at home without having to tiptoe around. That I liked.

I had a very expensive weekend--- my trusty 1978 electrolux vacuum cleaner (inherited from the parents) left this universe with very little hope for its repair. I sucuumbed and bought last years model, with the trade in and some discounts only cost me 500 clams. Yech. Good thing I didn't go shopping while in Spain, I knew I would need that money for something less frivolous. Anyhoo, the new one is very nice, but I'm going to have my cleaning guy read the manual before operating.

Other than that, gardening, running around and napping kept me busy!

Still chilly here today, but as the week progresses, we should have warmer temps.

I had a rehearsal last night for a music show I'm in next month. it went fairly well.

Saskie: Joseph Haydn was a great classical music composer. He is known for his symphonies and oratorios. A large group of singers and instrumentalists got together to put on "The Creation" next Sunday. It's a beautiful piece.

Well ladies, I have to admit to falling off the wagon a bit. I'm going to have to weigh this week and it is going to be ugly. I have to figure out why I'm motivated and focused.

I really don't want to have to buy a new spring wardrobe and hide in my sweaters and bigger pants this spring.

Hi everyone!

I'm around but have lots going on. My dear MIL passed away yesterday afternoon and things are turned upside down. She has been in a nursing home and was doing relatively well but 3 days ago she got the start of an infection and went downhill really quick (2 days). Thankfully her death was a peaceful one and everyone was able to say good-bye. It's going to be rough waters the next few days as arrangements are being made and all that goes along with it.

I never made it to my meeting yesterday but in weighing myself this morning I'm down I'm hoping I can keep this loss with all that's going on.

Hope everyone is doing well and that you have a great weekend. They're calling for cold & damp weather here; I'm hoping they're wrong. Yesterday was a beautiful Spring day (59) with the sun shining and the birds chirping away. Catch everyone later...

I'm so sorry Melissa. It's never easy, but at least you can take some comfort that her passing was quick and peaceful. I hope you and your family are doing OK.

My vacation starts tomorrow. I will miss checking in with you guys but I'm really looking forward to a month in sunshine and warmer temps.

Melissa, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. You were all very lucky to be able to spend time with MIL before she passed. I hope the next few days go okay for you and your family. Please take care of yourselves.

I'm off tonight for a series of brief meetings in DC and a weekend at a spa (whoo hoo) on the eastern Shore of MD with a friend. Having never been to a spa, I have no idea what to expect, however I did book a facial and will take a few yoga classes. I'd rather leave my massages to my massage diva in Seattle. The weather in the mid atlantic states has been a bit whacky, so I'll dress tomorrow for 80 and the next days for 50.


I hope Domina's Haydn piece goes well and the Tara, Miss Laurel and everyone else is doing okey dokey.
