  • Well today was the final weigh-in of the biggest loser!

    I didn't win the contest - turns out other people were a bit more drastic than me and went for the lemonade cleanses, etc! I only took a diuretic and went to the sauna!! haha

    But I'm still a winner! I feel super proud of myself and am actually not as upset as I thought I would be! I worked really hard and earned this and I've gotten myself into a pattern of healthy eating and exercise!

    When I look back at the goals I made for myself 12 weeks ago when this program started I realized that I reached both of them!! They are:
    1 - develop and maintain a regular exercise routine
    2 - lose 20 pounds
    I've done both of these, which is super exciting!!!

    So with this challenge I lost:
    * 20.6 pounds (31 all together!)
    * 1.5" off neck
    * 3" off chest
    * 1" off upper arm
    * 4" off waist
    * 4.5" off thigh
    * 1" off calf

    I'd say this was still a pretty successful 12 weeks!!!!

    Thanks for all the support here guys!! Much appreciated!!

    ~Laura
  • Nice job!!
  • Congratulations !
  • Wow! That is super impressive! You should really be proud of what you accomplished. Think about it, you're nearly 1/3 of the way to your goal weight! That is an encouraging thought.
  • oh my goodness AbstractSilver, I never even thought of it that way, but WOW - that's encouraging!!! haha

    Thanks everyone else!
  • Laura, very nicely done! So awesome!
    I, too entered a biggest loser contest at my work this winter, I didn't win, either. Hard to compete with people going at it in an unhealthy manner, chicken fasts, deprivations, etc.

    But now fast forward 2 months after the contest. I'm still going and most of them are going backwards!!!
    Don't let up, Laura, just because the contest is over. You have SO got this! Keep up the great work!
  • Those are great results and you should be so proud of yourself! Congrats!
  • Congrats on establishing great habits, losing weight and being able to accept that you can absolutely "win" at weightloss even when you don't win a contest!
  • Congrats! Even if you did not win, at least you gave your best shot, and that’s what counts the most. Two Thumbs up for you!
  • That's great! And you'll be the real winner when your weight stays off!!
  • Congratulations! I guess when there's money on the line people will really push for it. You stayed sane anyway haha
  • Outstanding!
  • You have a great attitude Congrats on losing weight and establishing healthy habits.
  • re:
    Great job! I initially started my weight loss with a biggest loser contest as well - the key now is to just keep going!!
