What have I done!! 50 pounds in one year.

  • Yeah, that's what I did. Gained 50 pounds in one freakin year. I was hovering around 240, not loving it, but that's what it was. Then I met a guy... great guy.. we've been together for a year, I stopped watching what I eat, went off Weight Watchers, threw caution to the wind.... and gained 50 pounds. I can't even imagine what he thinks when he looks at me. I can't even look at me.

Stepping on the scale this morning was heartbreaking. And almost scale breaking. 290 pounds. The good thing is that it made me heartsick enough to know that I need to take care of this now.

I've never posted in this club before. I've never been anywhere near 300 pounds before. But here I am... I am probably going to be a crazy poster for a few weeks while I get back into it as I am going to need a lot of distraction. I hope I find a few friends here.

    Thanks for reading!

    Amy
  • Welcome Amy - and you've taken the first step so it's all onwards and downwards now.
  • Welcome to 3FC, Amy!

I understand your pain. I gained 40 of my lbs in around a year. It sucks.

The good thing is that you're here and ready to make a change.

Hope to hear more from you soon!

  • Well it happens to be best of us. I woke one day and I weighed 291lbs which turned out to be 304lbs when I purchased a new scale. Talk about motivation. So, I decided that I wanted to live a happier healthier life. So here I am working towards my first goal and surprisingly enjoying excercising.
  • Welcome Amy! Sounds like you are making a good move and taking those first steps into it Good luck and I look forward to reading about your journey
  • Welcome. Yep, that's how it happens.....when we're not paying attention. When I first started dating my husband, we always went out to eat, and I gained about 80. But just learn from it so after you lose, you are more careful to not let it happen again. Sorry you have to go through this, but, at least you have a great guy to support you during your journey. Hang in there and good luck.
  • I've done that. I gain weight so quickly it's not even funny. And when my husband (then boyfriend) moved in I gained about 100lbs over 2 .5 years and kept it there for another 2.

Don't beat yourself up over it (I'm one to talk, but I know it doesn't help). And, now that you've gotten to the point where you know you have to do something, it's time to do it! And you can. Do you have a specific eating plan you'll be following?
