cocktail dress suggestions?

  • I hate shopping so I've been putting off going to an actual store (no worries, I still have time).

You can see my stats, but I'm a shortie (5' 1") and chubby, though will hopefully be less chubby as the day gets closer.

Dress is for a wedding (not mine, I'm a guest) in July in Texas. No white, since it's a wedding. No pink, because the bridesmaids are wearing pink and I don't know the shade or style.

It definitely needs to be on the dressier side/cocktail attire even though it's an afternoon wedding because it's here: http://austinclub.com/index.html

brown hair, pale-ish skin. Alright ladies: shop for me! lol PLEASE help. If you can think of any sites with good suggestions. I feel like all the dresses out there are either very form fitting (which I don't feel comfortable in at all) or kind of...matronly. and I'm 27.

Oh: and I'd like to keep it under $150. Less if I can. Cause I'll probably wear it only once or twice.
  • I found some really nice cocktail type dresses for my cruise at Ross last year that were really reasonably priced. I don't know of any online resources, but good luck, and post a pic when you find something.

and the best part is you don't need to shop for it: http://www.rostitchery.com/infinity-dress.html
  • I love this one from Macy's or this one would be pretty flattering because of the cut.

This one is cute from JCPenney or this one and also this one.

They all come in multiple colors and have pretty good prices!
  • I second Ross or even Burlington Coat Factory/Macy's/TJ Maxx/Target

Not sure what size you are in right now, but Torrid always has some pretty cute dresses

I have never seen DOTS before- thanks for sharing! I don't like that you can't buy online, but there's a store pretty close.

I dig the first one here. Gorgeous! Good luck!
  • WWW.eshakti.com is my favorite place to find dresses. They customize to your measurements and even have an overstock section that is 40% off. I found my Easter dress there.
  • I think http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/ava-dress-teal.html would be super flattering.. it's available in a few different colours. I love pin up style stuff as it works really well for girls with some meat on their bones!

    Some more
