what about a wide sash-type belt in a bright contrasting colour? pair with chunky earrings. that would help deflect the "i'm chunky" statement.

I like the pattern, you can go minimal with accessories, and it looks amazing. It's definitely a dress to wear with heels, nude, black ones, or maybe even red?
