Phase 2

  • I've been in Phase 2 for almost 2 weeks and the carb cravings have been worse. I think some of it is having too much Crystal Light, which is known to increase the desire for sweets (any sweetener will do that). But I just realized that I'm not getting the carbs in the IP lunch packet, as I'm having meat instead.

    Last week I sabotaged myself by eating a bunch of almonds, and indeed, I gained 1.5 pds. This week, no cheats beyond having too much Crystal Light or sugar-free jello. All no/low carbs, but I have heard they can stall progress, so I am trying to stop them.

    Will use a some fresh lemon juice in water when I need a little something to keep me from cheating.

    Any other ideas for non-sweetener type stuff we can have? Cucumber or celery???? I hate to take away from the vegees I have at dinner because I love them.
  • I'm starting P2 today after a pancreas re-set aka reboot. I told my coach I have been very hungry this time around. She suggested a cup of hot chicken or beef broth or hot herbal tea (not a fruity one though) when I get hungry mid-morning. Maybe that would help you?
  • Just curious...why do you say 'not fruity' teas...do they make you crave carbs more?
  • That is just what she told me. I assumed it was because of carbs, but I didn't ask. I can ask when I see her next week.
