Hi!

  • Hi everyone! I'll try to keep my intro short.

Since I became pregnant with my first child in 2006, my weight has steadily increased and my activity has steadily decreased. I had my second child in 2009. After that I felt really 'off' and never felt like I had fully recovered from both pregnancies. I thought it was because I had my kids close together. They are 18 months apart. But as time went on and as my health declined, I knew something else was going on, but it took a while to find out exactly what.

In May of 2011 I was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect. This contributed to my declining health and high blood pressure, shortness of breath, dizziness, etc. I had open heart surgery in June. I've been going to cardiac rehab for a little over four months now. Rehab has really given me the boost that I need to get my life back.

My goal is to lose 50 pounds to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. My heart has been unknowingly stressed for so long and I am aware the extra weight is a big liability now. I need to get this weight off and become healthier overall through exercise and diet to help ensure that I will be around to see my kids grow up.

I'm excited to have found this forum.

  • My Intro

Hi everyone! My name is Laura and I'm a daycare provider in Southern MN! I have been on the weight loss journey since high school basically.... I have 2 kids who are now 7 and 6, and it's time to get my butt in gear! I have more weight to lose than I care to talk about.... it's going to be a journey! BUT, I will say that I am ready to tackle it!
I'm thinking of trying the new PINK Method and would love to hear from anyone that's doing it, has done it, or wants to do it! Success in numbers, right!
