managing an unplanned day

  • Yikes.

Forgot my lunch today and had to buy at work, then went to a dinner meeting where dinner was served.

Just toted up my calories and I did fine.

    Phew.

Day nine of my restart and I did fine.
  • Good for you! I have been finding that when I add up my unplanned days, they aren't as bad as I am thinking they are.

It's really true. I had this awful moment of panic and thought I had blown it, then I told myself to calm down because it probably wasn't as bad as I thought. And I was right.
  • Good for you! I hate days when I forget or don't have time to pack a lunch. My favorite go-to is McD's grilled chicken with half the bun. (For future reference )
  • Good idea to figure up the calories and not just assume you'd blown it...
  • Great job! Unplanned days stink, but you found that you can manage even when things don't go your way

I try to plan for the unplanned. I keep some soup in my desk at work, which really came in handy when I forgot my lunch a while back...
  • My day went out of control yesterday, but my eating did not. That makes me very happy. The strategy that worked for me yesterday was "focus on veggies" -- that led to some really good choices.
  • Soup in the desk is a great idea!
