I am new to this website and looking for some support, yet again in my life with PCOS and Insulin Resistance.
A little history...I am 33 1/2 and was diagnosed about 10 years ago, after years of concern and issues with weight and no period.
At once point I saw a nutritionist and lost about 75 of the 100 I had gained from the PCOS and then about 3 years ago, I got lazy and stopped all of the good things like...taking my Gluchophage(cause it makes me sick), exercising regualrily and eating right. I also got into a relationship, so I think I just felt comfortable, finally thinner than I had been in a LONG time and at a healthy weight(though I wanted to lose 20 more). Anyway, that brings me to today.I have since not been able to have a period unassisted(provera) and have not had a period in almost a year. I started losing my hair in patches-alopecia areata about a year and a half ago and no one could tell me why. So...just yesterday I noticed I was spotting, I think
and not consistently. I am thinking my period may be coming back naturally but I don't know. I know I should see my nutritionist again and get back to working out...I am just held back by other issues-psychological stuff and obsessions with weight and body image stuff. I also suffer from anxiety and depression(shocking, i know)Sorry for the ramble...just wanted to put it all out there for some support. Any kind words would be appreciated.
For the past 2 weeks, I have been very conscious about my food choices and have been making good decisions. I am dairy free and soy free as well(due to allergy). The soy I could tolerate for a while, but then I read about it mimicking estrogen so I stopped alltogether. I am wondering if that is helping the period....

Thanks ladies!!!!
Amanda
