2012: Because I don't want to be overweight if its the end of the world!

  • Hey everyone!
You'll have to bear with me - I'm brand new to this kind of thing. So, my name is Lu and I'm 21.
Initially what triggered off this want-for-change was a discussion with my Grandmother. One of those general wisdom-filled talks most of us encounter at some stage. Although she's said it before, it really struck home this time when she confessed she was "shocked how fast ones time passes". I'm tired of waiting for my life to begin. I want to embrace life for the precious short thing it is. Weight-loss is one of the many things I need to change about myself. Its going to be both a physical and emotional roller-coaster I'm sure but I'm so excited about life style change.
It would be great to hear from anyone! And thanks for taking the time out to read this..
    Wish me luck!
    Lu x
P.s. Sorry if I caused anyone offence with the 2012 joke
  • LU ~ 2012 is gonna be your year ... someone here once said, "LIVE BETWEEN THE STEPS" -- meaning live your life to the fullest now; every day, and every step along the way. Yes, take the small steps to a healthier you, but go for your dreams along the way too. Glad you joined us here; great site & great people. There is a UK forum here too ...
  • I decided to make 2012 my year too! I haven't officially began dieting yet but I've been spending this last week researching and getting myself pumped. I have also been keeping track of what I am eating, when I am eating it, and the emotion behind it. It has really helped me understand what my eating habits are, and even the simple act of having to record what I eat has already stopped me from making iffy choices...and I haven't even started yet! Good luck with your goal, I look forward to getting to know you. Let's make 2012 our weightloss year!
  • Welcome Lu. I have to admit tho, if I knew for sure that 2012 was the be all and END all, I'd eat, and eat, and eat. BUT, since I'm pretty certain I will never know when my number is up....I'll continue this weight loss journey

Good luck to you. P.S. Grandma is right---blink---and 30 years has passed. Live it to its fullest!
  • Ha, love it! Welcome to the forum!
