My let down, turned to motivation

  • Good Morning!

I rarely post on here but today I feel like I needed to post.. talk about things! I had a baby on 9/24... started IP 3 weeks post baby..

So far I have lost 24 lbs. My coach measures me and I don't really see a huge drop in inches.. but tomorrow I go back in and I'm gonna ask her for totals since the begining 6 weeks ago.

When I lost 15 lbs I took pics of myself front, side, behind view in bra/underwear. Today I took new pics and compared, and to me there was literrally no difference..... bummed me out big time. I sulked for about 10 minutes, thinking I'm wasting my money... but at the same time confused that the #'s in lbs are going down.

and then boom.. I have this total rush of motivation.. that I need to prove those pictures wrong!! I put down my coffee (black of course).. picked up the water bottle..... promised myself Im gonna double my water and lettuce intake and kick some *** on this diet, and I WILL reach my goal by end of January! only 20 lbs.. thats nothing! I have lost 24 lbs already in 6 weeks! I can do this.

Thats all.. just wanted to share!
  • We are our worst critics, You may not see the difference in you but do you feel better? its about how you feel!!...you can do this. we are behind you, cheering you on
  • Wuv is right, it's all in how you feel. At my third WI I lost 1.5 pounds but lost quite a few inches. I walked out feeling bad because my other losses had been so much more. Then at WI#4 I lost 3 pounds and only 1 inch total. I know I'm having success because the way my clothes are fitting and the way I am feeling. Just remember, it's not all about the numbers --be it scale numbers or tape measure numbers---it's about you feeling better and being healthier.
  • I think 24 lbs in 6 weeks is awesome! You just had a baby, so remember your body is trying to recover too!
  • Congrats on the baby and the weightloss that's ambitious to do it so quickly after the birth. I was just wondering if you're nursing and if that could have something to do with the inches (I hope you're eating enough if you are nursing!)
  • Do your clothes fit differently? I swear that I cannot tell a difference in my looks, but my size 12's fall off, my size 8's are getting bigger, and my size 6's are starting to fit. Even though I don't look in the mirror and see a difference, my clothes...and the way I feel tells me things are different!!!

CONGRATULATIONS on both the baby and the weight!!! You are doing awesome!!!
  • I agree with what everyone else has said....you've done an amazing job!! At this point, I would definitely look for non scale victories since the weight seems to come off quickly at first and then a little bit more slowly after a while, which is normal.

I sometimes feel like the weigh ins are a competition with my friends as we all go to the same place around the same time. My numbers are always lower!! However, I have gone down the most in dress sizes and have longer endurance during workouts.

Focusing on the number can sometimes get me down, especially when you consider the amount of money we all pay to lose!, but there is so much more we can go by to measure our success! Keep up the good work!!

You are doing great. The weight you have lost is 4 lbs a week, that is super. Also, remember that after a baby our bodys change shape a tad compared to what we were before. Just keep up the good work. that 20# will come off real soon.
