New to WW and 3 chicks

  • Just wanted to say hi and let you know this is a great forum! I have been lurking for a few days and getting prepared to go from low carb to lower carb/ww. So have been busy learning the program and making up some fast look up sheets for the fridge door. Still waiting for some things to come and my buddy to get her stuff so we can get started. We will be doing this at home no WW membership.

I have about 30 to lose and have the 29 points so will have to be creative to stay lower carb.
So will keep reading and learning from all you great folks. i have lots of questions so you will see a lot of me!

Hi, and welcome to you too! I am staying with carbsmart ice cream, LC fruit like melon and berries. I also use the Jay Rob whey protein mix for smoothies 1 carb/3pts per serving and add flavorings form like capellas, Torani etc.
I did pick up the 4 ingedient 10 minute WW recipe book today so I can start learning how they put meals together and point values. Lots to learn for sure. maybe we can start a LC WW thread for more ideas, I am sure we are not alone in leaning that way.
  • Sounds great! With the smoothies are you useing milk? almond milk or water
    ?
  • I use Hoods Calorie Countdown milk, 3 carbs and 2 points for a cup. It can be hard to find, other times water with cottage cheese or whipping cream and a few ice cubes.
  • I count carbs (try to stay below 80 net carbs per day) and also do WW. I do somewhat modify it to fit with my lower carb eating.

For snacks, my go to snack is nuts. I buy a variety and eat about an ounce of nuts every day. I particularly like pistachios and mixed nuts.

I eat some of the Atkins bars. Some people are sensitive to sugar alcohols but they don't bother me.

Occasionally I eat a sugar free popsicle.

I tend to eat mostly full fat dressings on salad since reduced fat ones usually have lots of sugar.

I occasionally have a piece of dark chocolate for a snack (about 60-70 calories).

Usually one day a week I may have some snack that isn't low-carb friendly at all.

Nice to know, I was thinking 80-100 max carbs a day too. I have not yet started 11-1 is start day still getting program organized for doing it LC. It appears to be working for you from your stats, good job! Yeah, could not live without my almonds.
