Does anyone use online food journals? If so, and let's say your calorie goal is 1350, but you log in exercise and it adds on extra calories (let's say you burned 500 calories), does that mean you need to eat 1850 calories?
Thoughts?
i don't eat my calories i burn from exercise unless i am hungry, i let myself eat 60% of them. i feel fine as long as i ingest my calorie goal per day, regardless of how much i burned.
It depends on you personally I believe. Some people don't eat them back and some do. I personally, I eat back my calories, or at least some of them. I started eating 1200 calories a day, but when I joined the gym and I was working out even harder (then before joining the gym), I was getting exhausted, fatigued, and grumpy. When I would eat back 200 calories after the gym, taking my daily total up too 1400, I felt like a person should.
So I say, listen too your body. If you body needs fuel, it needs it. There is no way around it. You will be happier in the end feeding your body when it needs it then not. One thing that makes it easier for me too eat back those calories, is too keep them super healthy . Like yesterday, my extra calries were a protein shake (one scoop protein, one banana, 1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt, and a small splash orange juice for flavor = about 300 ). I was still hungry so I ate two handfuls of grapes. But I ran for 35 minutes and lifted weights for 25 minutes...so I burned at least that at the gym.
