Greetings! :)

  • Hi all, thanks for being so inviting-- I figured it's about time I join in

I've finally decided to get fit and make it last!

I'm not using a particular diet plan-- just moderation, keeping track with an online tracking site and increasing my activity level. I'm either walking or run/walking every day of the week, with the goal of running a 15K in March 2012.

I've run races before, but have always been slow-- like, starting with the walkers, slow. I'm working on improving my speed and endurance, and hoping that getting to a healthy weight will make running easier and I won't gasp when I see my race photo

Anyway.... I'm excited about it and motivated in a way I haven't felt in a long time-- trying to take advantage of that!

Thanks all and I wish everyone the best!
  • Good luck!
  • WOW a 15k that rocks. I am hoping I can do a 5k by the time spring comes around.
    Best of luck to you!!
  • Thanks! Well, I've done a 15K twice before, so I know it's possible I'm just sort of starting from scratch again But starting over is better than nothing, right?
  • Good job and good luck!!!!! That is one thing I would like to do. Maybe just start out with a 5km.

    Thanks!
That's what I did! A couch to 5k plan I started out thinking I'd just walk one, but then realized the plans help a lot and it was a lot of fun. Did the run/walk instead. I'm pretty much as slow a runner as the fastest walkers though, hahahah! My first one was a Christmas season race in the evening and all the runners wore bells on our shoes. Fun

Also.... Moose Jaw? That's a great name for a town
  • Cheering you on to the 15K.....You have to let us know how the training is going. This time, you'll leave those walkers in the dust.
