Healthy Radiant Skin

  • I have always been prone to breaking out. As I am losing weight, my skin is looking wrinkly and I am getting large break outs. My skin on my face and chest looks bumpy and ruddy and I just don't like the way it looks and feels. I try not to wear much makeup but need some cover up.

I am eating healthy so I am confused.

I am drinking tons of water, which I did not do before.

I take lots of vitamins including a very good, hair, skin and nail formula.

I may be allergic to something I am eating? Am I just detoxing a bunch trough my skin?

Is there an inexpensive blood allergy test I could take?

Is anyone else going through skin challenges? What have you found that works to tighten and make my skin glow with health?
  • What are you eating? Are you getting enough fat?
  • I'm sort of having this problem, but I know I have hormonal issues so I blame that (which is impacted by the weight loss I know)...it's sad, I kinda always thought eating healthy, fresh food would make me look glowy and beautiful. Not so!
  • I am getting enough of everything and I take alot of supplements.

Again, my skin has always been a problem and I am puzzled that I am eating healthy and still have this problem.

I am eating a lot of soy milk so I am thinking to change to almond milk.

I just thought that a thread with the conversation about how to get radiant healthy skin would be helpful to many people.
  • Since I've been doing more intense workouts and sweating a lot, I've been breaking out. I go straight to class after the gym and don't have time to wash my face/redo my makeup.

    Could sweating cause breakouts?
  • I've found Soya to be a major source of spots for myself also.

I think sweating could definitely cause spots especially if you're not rinsing your face. Could you get a spritzy bottle of water/rose water/ etc and just give your face a quick swipe with a cotton bud maybe?
  • Oh man, I sooo could have written this post!!!!

I was breaking out pretty bad before I started losing weight, and I thought that once I started losing, it would clear up. WRONG! It's gotten worse, and I am also drinking lots of water/eating good/taking vitamins/etc.

I also wash my face right after working out too, so I have no idea. I chocked it up to hormones too, but I don't know that for sure.
    I've even tried 2 different face washes/cleansers!

I hope it clears up soon, I'm literally sitting here with a HUGE zit right inbetween my eyes.

Let me know if you all find anything that helps!!!!!!
  • In my opinion if you're breaking out around your chin/mouth/jawline it is most likely hormonal, so you're probably best off trying things like Oil of Evening Primrose type medications. I absolutely recommend Yasmin (BC) for this, but obviously not everyone wants to or can be on birth control.

It might just be that your face is a bit clogged, I definitely think face masks are a big part of clear skin. I'm not a fan of scrubs since I don't like the abrasive nature of them. Microdermabrasion is the only thing I will occasionally do.

However! Clay and charcoal masks! I absolutely love these and do them about 2 times a week. I think they're infinitely better since they're pulling dirt from your pores rather than just scrubbing off dead skin cells, plus you can relax for a bit
