There is a pkt of soy patty I got with my first set of meals when I joined IP. I have not been brave enough to try it! I haven't seen soy party's mentioned on these threads either which makes me wonder! Who had tried them, and what did you think? Any tips on how to jazz them up?

Hi Tuscany, Some people do not like soy patties, others love them. I like them. I like spice so I add 1/4 t of cumin, chili, and coriander to the mix.
Others stir fry zuccini and mushrooms and add that to the patty.
The hard part about the patties is that you have to let the mixture sit a few minutes to thicken and that you have to cook them on a low medium heat..I have burned a few.
Remember, you can use mustard and there is a Heinz 1 carb catsup if you want catsup.
Many people crumble them in salads or I eat them as lettuce roll ups.
Hope you enjoy it.
We have the same goal weight. Won't it be fun to hit the 40s?
I make mine into a taco salad. I mix them as directed and add cumin, red chili pepper, garlic, Mrs. Dash extra spicy, hot sauce, (I'm from Louisiana!) anything else I can think of, lol. I start cooking mine in a patty form, them break it up and cook it well done. I serve it over lettuce and spinach, top with jalapenos, onions, pepperoncini peppers and a very light drizzle of WF salad dressing. It doesn't taste like meat to me, more like a black bean flavor, which is fine in a mexican inspired dish. I don't know if I would like it prepared as a "burger".

Paintlady..Do you add the 2 oz of water or more? Do you have trouble cooking the patty? Thanks,
is the soy patty restricted?? it isnt on my food list.. so jsut curious at whats in it?
I cook it like Paintlady I use the amount of water in the instructions and I have no trouble cooking it. I was hesitant too but now it's one of my favs. I don't make it quite as spicy as Paintlady and I top it with chopped onion and tomato.
