Hungry then not hungry..hungry then not hungry..

  • Okay..so i get the whole " i dont feel like eating" bit when your in ketosis..but what i want to know is "why do we go in and out of it??? i mean..your hungry then you hit ketosis and your not hungry anymore..and then like a week or few weeks later all the sudden your hungry again" its like totally random..
    How did you deal with the hunger a few weeks down the road?

    Well, i still feel hungry and i sure hope i'm in ketosis. I mean i will have breakfast at 6:30 and by 10 my stomach is growling a little but i have no problem holding off til noon for lunch.

    And i think drinking water is the best way to deal with hunger pangs.
  • I'm 8 weeks into the program and after the first few days I haven't been hungry at all. If anything it's the opposite, it keeps getting more and more difficult to finish all of the food every day. EXCEPT at one time I had to take a whole bottle of magnesium citrate and the following day I was really hungry.. I don't know if it was because it plain thew me out of ketosis or I was dehydrated, either way it only lasted one day and I went back to not being hungry.
  • Hmm..well.. the other day i drank almost 5 litres of water and was still hungry..but when im in ketosis im not hungry.. BUT..it takes me about 5 days to get into it to reach that point and its sooo easy to kick yourself out of it..one cheat..one taste..your gone.

    If I still get hungry, could it mean i'm not in ketosis? I'm going to have to buy those strips to test, lol

    Yeah, that's one of the reasons why this is a no-cheat diet.
  • You are on the low scale of ketosis all the time on this diet plan. You can be hungry, you will be in ketosis. You can be stuffed, you will be in ketosis. It's not a light switch.

    You can still be in ketosis and be hungry, but it is more likely you are thirsty. This diet requires alot of H2O, you are losing electrolytes like crazy, hence the supplements. So, if you are hungry, drink a large glass of H2O or make a cup of tea and see if that helps.
