Daily Exercise Log

  • Hi - Beginning on January 5, I decided to increase my exercise from 3 days a week to 6 or 7 days a week. So far so good. I've exercised 14 of the past 16 days. I thought I'd start logging what I did here, for accountability & to feel good about my accomplishments. Feel free to join me if you'd like to post your daily exercise and/or food intake.

    Friday, January 17: 30 minutes running on treadmill
    Saturday, January 18: 45 minutes weight lifting
    Sunday, January 19: 1.5 hours ice skating
    Monday, January 20: 45 minutes kickboxing
    Tuesday, January 21: 2 hours ice skating
    Wednesday, January 22: 35 minutes weight lifting

    FYI...I take figure skating lessons on Tuesday nights after work and I usually practice every Sunday as well.

    Tuesday, January 21
    8am: drip coffee & a blueberry muffin
    12pm: vegetable curry wrap
    2pm: 1 peppermint stick
    8pm: green salad with cottage cheese & a brownie

    Wednesday, January 22
    8am: nonfat latte & a luna bar
    12pm: baked potato w/ veggies & vegan chili
    4pm: genisoy bar
    7pm: cheese ravioli w/ marinara & green salad

    This is what I have done so far this year! I did a pretty intense workout today. I did an iFIT.com workout Level 2 but had to modify it to a max speed of 4MPH instead of the 5. I could only go that speed for 1 minute then had to back down to 3MPH but I did 3 sprints at 4MPH for 1 minute! I am pretty whipped since I jsut finished the workout about 15 minutes ago.

  • Janine: Way to go! That's fantastic! I have an Proform iFit treadmill & I love it. I use the preprogrammed workouts a lot. I have a TV w/ a DVD player in front of my treadmill & I own all the DVD box sets of Sex & the City. I've found that popping in an episode of Sex & the City makes the 30 minute high intensity workout fly by. I've been working up my intensity on the treadmill the fastest I can comfortably run is 6.0 (but I can only maintain that for about three minutes before I have to start backing down into the 5 range). Keep up the good work, Janine!

    Thursday, January 23 - Zip, Zilch, Nada. No exercise today. I usually exercise between 5 & 6 am and today I had to get up early to take my SO to the airport. He's at the Super Bowl this weekend & I've got the house to myself...yeah!

    Firiday, January 24 - 30 minutes of cardio/strength & 15 minutes toning with hand weights

    Thursday's food:
    8am - non-fat latte & luna bar
    12pm - veggie sandwich & fruit
    3pm - cookie
    6pm - green salad & 2 cosmos

    Friday's food:
    10am - non-fat latte & 1 slice lemon bread
    2pm - toasted bagel with sundried tomato cream cheese & thick tomato slices
    10pm - green salad & annie's organic mac 'n cheese
  • The Weekend
    On Saturday, I didn't get a chance to exercise. I scrubbed out my rabbit's run & visited a friend who just had her wisdom teeth removed. However, I didn't eat too terribly bad on Saturday:

    11am - Bob's 5 grain hot cereal w/ a banana
    3pm - Nonfat latte & blueberry muffin
    7pm - bean, green pepper & onion enchilada w/ whole pinto beans & mexi rice
    8pm - 1/2 cupcake

    Sunday, Jan 26
    Exercise: 2 hours ice skating
    Food:
    10am - Bob's 5 grain hot cereal w/ a banana
    3pm - Nonfat latte & 1 slice banana bread
    6pm - sauteed veggies & jasmine rice
    8pm - 1/2 cup cake & 1/2 cup fat free pudding
  • Monday, January 27
    Okay, here's to a new work week (yeah!)

    Monday's Exercise: 1 hour weight training (upper body, lower body & abs).

    Monday's Food:
    8am - nonfat latte & luna bar
    10am - handful M&Ms (bad, I know, but hey, everything in moderation, right? This is my long term eating plan and my long term eating plan HAS to include M&Ms!)
    1pm - Baja veggie wrap
    7pm - Sweet potato w/ tomatos & black beans.
    8pm - 1/2 cup cake

    Got off to a good start today with 45 minutes of kickboxing! And, I have ice skating tonight, so I'll pack in an additional 2 hours of cardio. Yeah!

    Breakfast at 8am: nonfat latte & luna bar
    Lunch: TBD
    Dinner: TBD
