Raises hand....
Yes, I too am "addicted to food". Can't help it! so many yummy-yummies out there!!! You know what I have learned? I've never been "addicted" to veggies. Nor beef, chicken, etc. Not even fruit. So what foods have I been addicted to, exactly? MAN-MADE PROCESSED JUNK. Oh yeah. Candies, cakes, cookies, pies. DOUGHNUTS!!!! CUPCAKES!!!! .... Chips!!! AND DIP!!! Ahhhh glorious BBQ Fritos!!!! BREAD. Yuummmmm for bread! Smear some butter & cheese on it & I'm in heaven!!! CARB HEAVEN!!!! Or rather... carb H#LL... and the more that stuff I would eat, the more I wanted to eat, and the less I could say no to it.
The more I cut that stuff out of my diet, and the more I said "yes" to fruits & veggies, the less that junk had control over me. Now I have control over it. I still indulge once in a while, but I make sure to keep it all within my calorie limit, and I can actually have ONE miniature Hershey bar & BE OK WITH IT! I can eat a handful of BBQ Fritos, and walk away. I'm surprised at my resolve!
Having said that... when it's Psycho Cycle time, I do sometimes get completely insane & have to realllllly watch myself. I've learned a couple of tricks (cutting way down on sugar is a bonus, plus, eating more protein seems to help as well.) But I really think (for me anyway) that the secret to enjoying it & not gorging on it is to simply work it into my caloric limit. I couldn't do that at first - it took me a couple of months of not having it at all in order to reign in that monster.
Good luck to you... you can do this!!!!
