  • I've been struggling a little this week, what with cravings and just wanting to give in. The good news is that I haven't given into them. But it has gotten me to think about the reasons whhy I decided to lose weight. Maybe others would like to share and provide motivation and inspiration?

    Mine are:

    1) I want to go on a night out and not feel like an over grown tub of lard, while my slimmer friends have fun and get attention.

    2) I want to have lost a decent amount of weight by my 23rd birthday in October and wear a show stopping dress.

    3) I want to be able to go to the doctors and the coversation not immediately turn to my weight.

    4) I don't think clothes shopping has ever been fun for me. I want to be able to pick anything up off of the shelf and it look good on me.

    5) I want a killer bikini body like beyonce and Kim Kardashian.

    6) My mum and 2 younger sisters as well as my cousins are all slim and I want to fit in.

    Anyone else have any idea's??
  • 1) I have horrible back problems and being at my lowest weight helps a lot.
    2) I want to be able to keep up with my students.
    3) I want awesome muscles
    4) cuter clothes--I am 6 feet tall and it's hard enough to find clothes that fit properly
  • 1) I want to start dating and feel great about it in the process
    2) I want to be able to wear super-cute clothing including a cute sundress, a skirt, and tops that do not primarily serve to hide my belly
    3) I want to fit in with my sister-in-laws and mom
    4) I will admit that I want to turn some head
    5) I want to be able to feel my bones that have been buried under fat for 8 years
    6) I want to FEEL thin
  • Sunshine87-I also want to date and not feel like men are turned off by my weight. Turning heads is also a great feeling :-)
  • Definitely my main #1 biggest motivation is that I don't want to get Type II diabetes. I recently found out I have a genetic predisposition for the disease (despite almost no family history). I have to be really careful when I get pregnant not to even develop gestational diabetes, so I want to be comfortably and long-term at a good weight before my husband and I attempt that in a few years.

    The compliments help, too.
  • 1. I want to *feel* healthier!
    2. I want my thighs to shrink so that I can wear a pair of jeans for longer than a year without having to throw them out because of holes in the crotch. (Seriously, my thighs eat my jeans for lunch!)
    3. I want to be a healthy role model for any kids I might have.
    4. I want to be able to wear sleeveless things without always thinking about my flabby arms that could double as nunchucks.
  • kariatari - LOL for #2!! I thought it was just me that has that problem!!

    1) I want to feel more in control and not think about food every second of the day.
    2) I want to have more energy each and every day.
    3) I want to get off some of these high blood pressure and cholesterol medicines.
    4) I want to enjoy shopping for clothes.
  • I just want to feel better about myself. My boyfriend tells me I'm perfect. I may never feel "perfect", but I would like to see myself the way he sees me.
  • I want to feel beautiful again.
I want to fit into my pre-pregnancy jeans.
    I want to turn heads
I want to feel healthy, maybe even have some muscles
  • I want to not hurt anymore after a day at work.
I want to not have headaches just by drinking a soda or something.
I want to not end up really sick like some of my family members cuz they're overweight.
I want to be able to look nice.
I want to be able to attract a guy's attention and not worry that they're turned off by me.
  • 1) I want to have a healthier way at looking at food and portions
    2) I want to look nice in normal sized clothes
    3) I have to admit I would like to turn a few heads
    4) I want to help counter act some potential health issues (PCOS + Fibro)
    5) I don't want to feel like I look pregnent in clothes
  • Quote: I just want to feel better about myself. My boyfriend tells me I'm perfect. I may never feel "perfect", but I would like to see myself the way he sees me.
That's exactly how I feel about my husband. What he sees is definitely not what I see.
1)I want to get to a place where I'm not constantly talking about new ways I can lose the last 12 pounds.
2)I want to stay looking young and healthy for as long as possible
3)Shopping is much easier, and I know this sounds weird, but I can get wwaaaaaay more clothes in a load of laundry now that they are smaller.
4)I don't want to think about weight loss every single day for the rest of my life
    5) I want to *know* that I look good, and feel it too
  • I would have to say that my goals are EXACTLY like yours isobelrose (right down to the birthday being in october) except for one thing, my family are all overweight too so I would change that to I want to show my family that is CAN be done. I would also add, my health..I have pcos losing the weight would improve my health DRAMATICALLY
