  • Everybody has them.. I know I get them (unsolicited) all of the time, but I want to know what YOUR favorite weight loss tip is...
Here is mine: 1. Write down everything! It keeps me aware of what goes in my mouth and what I do in a day. Plus it helps when I am curious about how I gained or lost weight. I can look back and see exactly where I went wrong (usually).
  • Not really a tip, but when I bake or grill some chicken in the beginning of the week to make daily lunches and maybe a quick dinner for the family, it really helps me to stay on track. I almost always have chicken cooked and ready to eat, and on good weeks some rice, couscous, and roasted veggies at the ready too. It helps me so much to have these foods at my finger tips.
  • Losing weight is like playing bridge. No one plays perfectly, but the winners win by learning to make fewer mistakes over time.
  • Drink Lots of Water and SEASON your food. You don't feel satisfied eating bland eggs with bland water. Seasoning makes you feel like you've eaten more sometimes... also, helps me from eating to fast if I savor it.
  • Don't let a bump in the road throw you over the cliff. Keep going. Get back on track the very same day -- no waiting for tomorrow or Monday to come around to resume tracking and staying on plan.
  • My number one weight loss tip?

    Don't quit.
  • My number one tip: Drink LOTS of water!! Most of the time you think you are hungry you are thirsty.
  • Take it a day at a time. You didn't gain the weight overnight, you will not lose it overnight. Just keep plugging away at this weight-loss business, and eventually you will be where you want to be.

I always read this one & nope I'm always HUNGRY!!! LOL

Hahaha yes, I thought so too! I tried this tip SO many times and I thought it never worked. But I fifgured out that everytime I would try it I would end up substituting my water with tea, which was substituted by juice...and then soda. I could never keep up with it. Just two weeks ago I started drinking 8 glasses of ice water each day and it seems to work. So I'm sticking by this tip...so far lol.
  • Zumba!!!!!!!!!! Enough said lol
  • for people who dont like drinking just water i love putting lemon in mine it makes me drink a lot more and i feel like im drinking lemonade but i cant stand bottled lemon juice except in cooking

also if you do most of the cooking always try to find lower cal substitutes and see if they are worth it like brown rice compared to white or lite sour cream i never knew how many useless calories i was eating until i experimented!

but my fave i think is dont eat in front of the tv! you dont enjoy your food as much and you may not know when your full besides you could be spending good quality time with friends or family!

  • Don't give up.

Learn to make better "bad" choices.

Don't beat yourself up over a "bad" meal or day. It's only a "bad" meal or day.

We are not perfect. The key is climbing back in the saddle, whether you want to or not, moving forward, with optimism, while not flogging yourself over one or two silly choices.

And you need to listen to your body! It will tell you what you need to know!
  • My favorite "tip": Understand, think about and reflect on why I am losing weight. This keeps me going on the days when I'd rather do just about anything other than go workout or make dinner under 400 calories. I think about how good it will feel to have lost the weight, all the things that I want for myself and it usually helps me snap out of it .

Great thread, BTW. Love reading these!
