Yes, but usually only athletes or infants (under 6 months of age)are affected. The kidneys of a healthy adult can process fifteen liters of water a day. I don't know anyone who drinks that much!

The trick is to drink your water throughout the day, not all at once. You want to maintain a healthy electrolyte balance. Problems most often occur with levels of sodium, potassium or calcium.
