I lost 60+ lbs between 2002-2004 using a low-card diet and then gained most of it back between 2008-2011
I had pretty much given up on trying to lose weight again until I started reading Gary Taubes' "Why we get fat" and also watching the youtube video "Sugar: The Bitter Truth" by Dr. Robert H. Lustig. I've been eating high protein, high fiber, low sugar for a week now and I feel great: much more energetic and not hungry at all. I'm terrified to weigh myself (so as not to get discouraged) and am going to try to chart my progress through how my clothing fits. I've been so encouraged by reading other people's posts on the site and I really look forward to interacting with everyone
